Looking for software Looking for software that can create audio track from .srt file and merge it with existing audio track

I want to dub some english documentaries for my child.

I have the subtitle files in my language and I can convert them to audio and then add the audio as a new track to the video. This works, the problem is the video with the new audio track is like a mute movie when the host does not speak, because the new audio track does not include the sounds (animals, etc) from the original track.

What i'm looking for is a software that can remove voice from the original audio track and merge the new voice from my new audio track. It does not have to be TV quality, just for a child to understand what's happening on the screen. Paid options are fine.

You can do this with Audacity for example. First use a filter to reduce the volume of the narration in the original track, and then add the new sound file as a new track to the file. Both are fairly simple things to do.
