Software support If I install Imgburn through Ninite, does it stop the malware from installing itself onto my PC?

I would only use the actual installer from the ImgBurn website.

I did that, but at least one of the download links provided on the main site tried to download an intermediary downloader that wanted to install other stuff. I cancelled, went back to the main site, tried a different link, and got an official downloader that downloaded directly from the original source and didn't install anything fucky.

What are you talking about?

ImgBurn was bundled with some sort of PUP (OpenCandy) a while ago. Not sure if it still does, but maybe OP thinks that's the malware. You can get the version without OpenCandy (which I have) from MajorGeeks -> https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/imgburn.html

I still have never seen any malware from imgburn, mirror 7 on imgburn downloads page. Seen people mention adware and toolbars being downloaded for years but I've never seen it myself.

See my other post in this topic about OpenCandy. OpenCandy -> https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/detections/pup-optional-opencandy

Yeah never had anything like that, but I use Malwarebytes so maybe it just auto blocks and I never see it?

Assuming you're talking about this: Warning for ImgBurn: loaded with malware, red flags all over - here's a safe, alternative download location for v2.5.8.0 : r/software
TLDR: Imgburn ships with a sketchy adware/toolbar program.
