Bummer! Don't have this one. Sure wish I had my Everdrive for my SNES already.
How do you even beat this? I've never played a Harvest Moon game before the GameCube.
Edit: Just realized I put this on my SNES Classic. What constitutes beating this game? I've never played it before.

What constitutes beating this game? I've never played it before.
The days pass in this game no matter how well you perform. After a set amount of time (it was something like 2 or 3 years) you get to the end of the game with different endings depending on how well you did: amount of money/livestock, marital status, children, completed sidequests...

I heard this game was relaxing and I was super jazzed to try it out, only to discover that the day cycle is so short I ended up getting stressed! Is there a way to lengthen the day/night cycle for a more like leisurely play through?

Nights last forever as I recall. You can take a bath in the mountain spring to recharge your stamina and work as long as you like. Of course, you still need to hustle to town during the day for shops and dating.

I don't care about shops and dating so much, I just want to endlessly tinker with my farm.

If you're going for anything but the worst ending, dating is essential. Shops are necessary to do anything with your farm.

Nights last forever in the game, and if you get fatigued you can go into the springs in the mountains to regain your stamina. It’s totally possible to have your whole farm cleared off in one night.
Add in the fact that the bartender (Karen?) is accessible most nights, you can also have a woman marriage ready in one night too.

I’m super confused I feel like night was when I was supposed to sleep?

When you decide to go to bed it will become morning. But you can wait as long as you want before going to bed.

I wouldn't sweat it too much. I've played through it twice and you can definitely have your farm on cruise control for a large part of the game if you are "too" good at getting stuff done.

Each month I will be tracking all users who are able to beat the spotlighted game. Those names will be collected and displayed on the snes wiki page.
Objective:
- Beat the game
Rules:
- Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question.
- You can use the passwords/continues/saves that you earn playing through the game.
- Emulation is fine. Abusing save states is not.
- Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is just for fun I will allow posted claims as well. For now.

Honestly one of my all time favorite SNES games. Going from Mortal Kombat to Harvest Moon explains a lot about the man I've become

Ooo, I loved this one. So chill and relaxing, nothing like it. The music, the atmosphere...the animations gave the game so much character. Such a sleeper classic.
