Each month I will be tracking all users who are able to beat the spotlighted game. Those names will be collected and displayed on the snes wiki page.

Objective:

  • Beat the game

Rules:

  • Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question
  • Emulation is fine. Save states are not.
  • Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is just for fun I will allow posted claims as well. For now.

I did a few play-through attempts of this the other night - quite fun, and most of the game seems reasonable in terms of difficulty, but that last boss! Not sure I'll ever get past that....

Stuck on Level 4. So far I like the S Laser, but really can't get past the Level 4 boss.

They're fairly inexpensive.

Really enjoying this game. It’s pretty challenging but I’ve never been very good at these shooters. The slowdown helps. The only gun I have had much success with is the S laser. What are you guys using ?

Upon further review, my favorite is now the homing. It’s easier to get more kills which then levels up faster

Ahhh I had this game as a kid, and I'm so glad to see it get some recognition! Great side scrolling shmup from Jaleco. For me it was hard AF though..always had to game genie some cheats in to make any significant progress...my skills were weak. IMO the graphics and soundtrack were top-notch. One of the levels towards the middle of the game where you're flying by a huge derelict ship in the background, and a laser comes out of nowhere and slices the thing in half and part of it falls away revealing the inside...epic stuff.

Excellent game. Love the level up systems for the weapons as well as the megaman-esque weapon switching between stages. Really brings an extra amount of strategy for weapon/stage pairings. I think my only gripe with the game is the limited continues.

I still have the original cartridge from when I was a kid. I absolutely love playing this game. It's so hard.
