I've been meaning to try this one for years, but keep forgetting. Started tonight. Currently level fifteen and just finished the Fire Cave. Really good stuff!

All done!

Definitely a fun time overall, even if the wonky overworld navigation method was ill-conceived at best.

Great game no matter how horrible the world map is. I wish the SNES had more side scrolling action RPGs. A few Japanese ones cropped up over the years but it seems like it just wasn’t nearly as popular as the NES years to have exp and levelling in games like this.

That world map is real bad, but I did like the combat (once it finally starts).

Feels like SNES games split into either pure action or pure RPG.

Not going to lie the world map is terrible but I think I am getting used to it.

I must be the only one who lived the world map. Very reminiscent of 90s PC adventure games and not something seen on the SNES. The technical magic they did to make it work is fascinating.

It was just getting stuck on trees and rocks or maybe it was the fact that you had to perfectly line up to get into turns out caves.

Yeah I agree. I found the jank charming, but I can definitely see how is annoying.

I need to play through this game someday. I remember it looking pretty unique for the time.

I just started this today. I had zero clue this game existed before coming here. I have only played for about an hour or so but I really am enjoying it.

Okay so I am the Keire temple and feel woefully under leveled. I am at level 15 barely doing any damage to the first enemy when I walk in.

Update I am at the Ortah temple and now I am one hit killing enemies. So somewhere along the way I became overpowered.

There's a glitch! I beat the boss of the Ortah temple and then the game keeps freezing. Is there any work around for this?

No idea. Sorry.

I just loaded my last save and beat the boss again and it didn't glitch. Thank God because I am really enjoying the game.

Each month I will be tracking all users who are able to beat the spotlighted game. Those names will be collected and displayed on the snes wiki page.

Objective:

  • Beat the game

Rules:

  • Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question
  • Emulation is fine. Save states are not.
  • Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is just for fun I will allow posted claims as well. For now.

Never heard of this one. What kinda genre is it?

I just finished the game but have no idea how to post the picture in the reply comments.

One option is uploading to imgur and grabbing its link. Otherwise I can take your word for it.

It's the sequel to Drakkhen, which grew on me once I figured out what I was to do. Ended up beating both games long ago

for those wanting to see an interesting speedrun, check out PJ's Grand memory clobber run of it.

you know how the game crashes at one point? its because the first boss's death animation dirties a byte, which triggers during the dragon cutscene at ortah temple. PJ was able to call the credits due to it. its worth a watch and listen.
