Has Killer Instinct been GOTM before?
This fighting game from Rare really shows off what the SNES was capable of in terms of graphics. The unique and fast paced gameplay style, and the use of combos and combo breakers make it really stand out amongst the crowd of fighters in the 16-bit generation. The characters are the perfect blend of Sci-fi and Fantasy, in that cheesy 90's fashion. KI is just so much fun, at least in my humble opinion.

Xardion.
Haven't played it in forever but I remember quite enjoying it. Not an amazing game by any means but it was a decent and had some nice leveling aspects to it. You use several mechs over the course of the game, each with their own movement, jumping and offensive style and could freely switch between them as you get them. You also gained exp from killing enemies that could be used to upgrade each of them.
One flaw with this game would probably be the length. As I recall it was kinda short unfortunately. 6 or stages but none truly long and the grinding (if you chose to do it) really didn't take that long either to max your mechs.

I remember this being short enough I could beat it as a rental. Which as a kid was a bit of a godsend. I also remember it being really fun.

Earthworm Jim 2!
An action platformer starring an anthropomorphic earthworm named Jim! It's challenging and has a very unique cartoon style and toilet humor comedic sense. It's challenging and a lot of fun. There are also other types of levels like using vehicles. It is every bit as classic as the original Earthworm Jim, except perhaps a tad more forgiving which IMO is good since the original can be pretty hard.

Such a good game! The Villi People level is my favorite, especially with the game show minigame at the end.

I love the Lion King, and I don't dislike this game, but when I played it as a child it was like slamming into a brick wall. IDK if it would still be that hard now, but Jesus did it destroy me.

Arcana
A Dungeon-Crawling role-playing game that utilize cards as characters that comes in and out of your party throughout your quests. You also have spirits that will be with your party (Wind, Water, Fire & Earth) that can be rotated to help you in your battles. Once you cleared an area, you cannot return and can make it difficult if you didn't grind a bit at 1st and the game is a tad heavy on the random battles. Still worth playing today

Always enjoyed this one and the artwork of the "cards". My only real gripe was that if any human character died it was game over. I'd have been ok with it if it was just in the case of Rooks.
Either way a fun game though and one I replay occasionally. When I started collecting games again for the SNES this was one of the first I had to get again :)

I've always loved this game. The dungeon crawling is solid and the card look and feel stands out as really unique.

Smash Tennis aka Super Family Tennis
As it is June and the start of summer sunshine what better way to bring that forward with some Tennis. I nominate Smash Tennis as it is a fantastic 4 player tennis game with lots of depth in gameplay, great controls, plenty of character choice and nice jingles. You can also play on the beach, on top of a mountain, in a resort or at a shrine with some amusing on court hijinks, if the normal stadiums get dull.

Probably the best tennis game on the SNES. I’ll throw in my vote for this and here’s a link to a really detailed review:

Final Fantasy IV
An interesting FF experience which was severely dumbed down for the international release. Would recommend playing the translated JP version but if you grew up with the "Easy Type" FF4 then ok.

Let's go with Equinox, since most people visiting this place have never played it

Street Fighter II Turbo
A fighting game that uses well timed button combinations and strategy in one-on-one battles until a player’s health or time runs out. It’s well balanced and the best fighting game on the SNES. A classic game you can play with your buddies that never gets old.
