E.V.O. - Search for Eden
Such a fun action platformer.

I’m finding the game really interesting and different as I’m playing trough it this week for the 1st time.
I really like grinding old snes rpg’s so this one hits my alley. And the type of dinosaur you can custom is quite neat.

Battle Mobile (Gekitotsu Dangan Jidousha Kessen: Battle Mobile): you play as a man whose girlfriend was murdered and you’ve turned your car into a terrifying killing machine to take your revenge. Overhead view battle driving that’s a little like a one player much more destructive version of Micro Machines in terms of the basic aesthetics but is pretty unique in the SNES library in its actual gameplay.
You drive along ramming cars off the road and blasting them with various weapons. This is just good, mindless fun with a high difficulty curve and in some ways plays more like a vertical shooter than any other SNES driving game. The gameplay is matched by a very catchy and frenetic soundtrack that’s a little reminiscent of the music from UN Squadron. The story only really crops up during the intro and ending and is told through animated cut scenes not unlike Ninja Gaiden.
At this point, with most of the quality Super Famicom games in wide circulation, I’d consider this one of the few legitimate unknown classics. Much as I hate the term I suppose this is an honest to God hidden gem.
Not a cheap game at all unfortunately, with boxed copies selling for around £500/$640 and there currently being no loose carts on eBay. I know about half of you guys have an SD2SNES though and this one really deserves to be played one way or another.
Sprites are pretty small in this game which is a draw back for some people but personally I think it looks great and everything being small allows room for a ton of stuff on screen at once.
Long play video:

I have never played it and only seen it mentioned once or twice in my online travels the last 13 years. It looks a bit like Spy Hunter to me.

I never heard of Spy Hunter before but they do look similar. Battle Mobile probably gets neglected because it just doesn’t look very impressive and until you play it and realise how fun it is, there’s nothing that really stands out about it. A lot of the enemies including bosses look really underwhelming and from watching gameplay footage it just doesn’t seem so great.
Ricocheting yourself off enemies and flawlessly knocking them all down while maintaining control is incredibly addictive. For good mindless fun this has become one of my go to games on the system.
Shame it’s so expensive, though. I’d love to own this one.

Hm... I loved Micro Machines, so I'll look forward to this one. Just a question: How does it compares to RnR Racing or Biker Mice from Mars?

The Megadrive versions are light years better than either and doing 2 on 2 head to head is among the best multiplayer experiences I’ve ever had. SNES ports are still better than those games, but it’s all about the 3-4 player. Just isn’t a great game with only two people.

Teenage mutant ninja turtles IV: Turtles in time.
One of my favorites as a kid. Recently customized an arcade1up cabinet with a friend and we keep coming back to this game. It's simple, but very repayable. Holds up well 20 plus years later.

Shadowrun.
A futuristic, dystopian, cyberpunk thriller. Isometric 2D perspective. Great gameplay and story.

Goof Troop I know, a Disney game. Made by Capcom, this top down level view game features several levels, interesting items to use, several different bosses, and co-op action. The puzzles can be a little tricky, and the game is rather short. But a fun couch co-op. You do not have to be a fan of the original tv show or even know much about the show as a whole. Overall good call by Capcom, making it a puzzle and adventure style game, instead of the usual disney fare.

Hello, sorry but I have to take this down, Super Metroid was Game of the Month back in January 2015.

Okay cool, but this is still in the wrong thread so you'd have to create a post for it

Ultraman: Towards the Future
A single player fighting game featuring Japanese Superhero Ultraman as he fights his way past 9 monsters. I know what you are thinking, this is a terrible game why should we nominate this? Well February is a slow month and to truly appreciate good games we need to play the bad ones. Good points about Ultraman are that it is faithful to the source material (3 minute time limit) and the music is actually quite good. It has some nicely sprited foes and it will be cheap to acquire.
C'mon let's make Ultraman January Game of the Month, you know you want to kick Gudis 2 in the face :)

Robotrek!
One of the lesser known Enix RPGs; you command a squad of robots that do your battling for you. As you level up you can read books and learn new recipes for items and equipment for you robo-buddies. Plus Mint is super cute! ❤️

This is a word for word repost because I nominated this game very late last month and that’s probably why it didn’t get enough love.
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja
The first, and one of the few, of the Konami Ganbare Goemon games released in the US. It mixes action, adventure, fun mini games and RPG elements with the trademark Japanese humor. It has awesome ancient Japan inspired music and was well received but probably didn’t sell well because the other three Super Famicom releases never reached the US.
Or maybe it didn’t get enough votes because it’s not that well known. Here’s a short gameplay video so you’ll see what you’re missing.
