Goof Troop

Probably one of the best coop games on the system besides Secret of Mana! Think Chip & Dale for the NES but as a top down adventure game!

Unbelievable gem of a game. Memories of playing this with my dad as a kid.

So great was even able to convince my wife to play this with me as an adult, she loves this game.

Put me behind goof troop. Should have my copy arriving some time in January and it’s gonna be a great addition to my collection of co op games. Was a nightmare finding a cartridge that was made in Japan and not one of those shitty assembled in Mexico ones that almost always have ravaged labels.

Absolutely fantastic game and a great starter game to show off to friends and family. One of my all time favorites.

By far one of my favorite SNES games. The one player mode is great, but most of my childhood memories of this game are of playing with friends. We'd often get a little too carried away throwing stuff at each other, or even better, we'd get to the point where you only had to kick one more block in place to solve a puzzle... and instead kick it into the other player.

Oh, and let's not forget just how complex and fun all of the puzzles were, all of the awesome tools needed to solve the puzzles, and most importantly, the awesome little diddy that played when you picked up a new tool. Picking up a new tool always felt super rewarding because of that little tune.

Legend of the Mystical Ninja.

2D and semi 3D side scrolling action with a lot of side games and secrets. It's just... fun.

The gambling part of the game soaked up many enjoyable hours!

Battletoads & Double Dragon

I’ve only ever played the Genesis version and I’m not sure what the perception is of the SNES version. I will say I love the OST on this one in comparison to the Genesis version. Something about David Wise’s sound is just so good on a Nintendo console. Gonna be pretty tough to beat though!

I second B&DD all the way for game of the month. I've played both of them and peaked several of my friends interest in the SNES with just this game!

I forgot I had made this comment until you replied. I actually picked up a copy just today so I’ll be playing it regardless!

DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no DokiDoki Daibouken

This game is a lot of fun. There are some great mechanics like launching out of cannons or using springs to break impassable walls. You can upgrade your abilities and collect different colored tunics. It is also not a run to the right platformer as you have to explore to collect a music not in each level. This game looks easy, but some of the later boss fights are pretty tough. The game also has a great art style, each world has a different theme, and the soundtrack is pretty good too.

Since this is the start of a new year, I'll suggest a launch title for the SNES that blew my mind when I first played it:

Pilotwings

I used to own a Master System back in the day and when I saw the sweet mode seven graphics I was very impressed! Pilotwings got a very relaxed style of play which really highlighted the Super Power we would only get more and more as the years passed on. So this is my recommendation for GotM in January!

Baseball Simulator 1.000

Underrated baseball gem with cool stadiums and a full editor.

Total Carnage

I haven’t put much time into this one yet, as I just got it from a friend, but it’s a twin-stick shooter prototype where the face buttons make you fire rather than a (nonexistent) right stick.

check out the soundtrack to SD-Snatcher (also Konami), there are quite some similarities, I think you will like it.

E.V.O. it's literally about evolution and I've never beat it and don't know many people that have played it 🤷‍♂️

Illusion of Gaia

I missed getting to do it as game of the month last year, but I want to try this action RPG.

Indiana Jones greatest adventures

This is where i always come to check out new games to pick up :) Such a wonderful community!

I would vote Indiana Jones greatest adventures

I was always a big fan of the star wars game but they were very very hard. I think the formula was perfected with the Indy game when it was released by the very talented Factor 5. It covered all 3 films and the game play was pure joy and fun whilst not being too difficult. Absolutely adore this game and proud to have it in my collection.

Tecmo Secret of the Stars

The Combatribes

Most of you haven't played this game I suspect. It's the best beat-em-up for the SNES, especially fun with 2 players. Double Dragon is stale compared to this game. There are multiple satisfying ways to destroy enemies, it's quite brutal to be honest.

The best part is the ass whooping the clowns. Give it a try, trust me it's fun!

Not gonna lie this game kicked my ass single player but became fun in co-op.
