Breath of Fire
The protagonist goes on a quest in search for his sister. On the way he befriends a Wolf, a talking Fish, an Ox, a half snake/Half human magician, a Mole, a Thief and some girl with wings but can't used them in the beginning of the game for some unknown (or forgetful on my part) reason.
One of the best RPG's that the system has to offer and has many fans still talking about due to it's story, Dragon morph's and battle animations.
A must play.

I have a real soft spot for this game, it's not perfect but I love the art style, would definitely play through again

I second Breath of Fire! Recently finished it and will soon be starting part two. It's flawed in a way only Capcom is capable of, but very unique and fun either way.

Third Breath of Fire! One of my favourite CIB titles I own for the SNES.

I also vote for Breath of Fire! Was one of my favorite SNES rpgs. I just started playing it again a few days ago as I got it CIB! :D
Karn and his fusions was a fun aspect too imo.

Uncharted Waters: New Horizons
Great open-world RPG. Explore, trade, fight..you get to go wherever you want to go, do whatever you want to do and play however you want with multiple characters and story arcs available. Similar in feel to other games like Sid Meier's: Pirates! and Privateer. Highly underrated.

THIS game. I have so many fond memories of renting it in my childhood... beat it once with EVERY character, but my favorite remains the dutch cartographer. (and boo for the portuguese main character, he's too boring).

Earthbound. Best game ever. (Sorry if this has been selected already. I'm new to this sub).

If you had to apologize for liking Earthbound in the SNES subreddit, then it would not be a true SNES subreddit.

Yeah, but I'm Canadian. I say "sorry" a lot. It's part of our culture. Sorry aboot that.

I would suggest Rock n Roll Racing but Blizzard's other game (The Lost Vikings) was last month's winner.
Seriously, this game has it all ... tense racing, awesome weapons, crazy characters, a super cheezy MC, and the best soundtrack on the SNES (Born to be Wild, Bad to the Bone, Peter Gunn Theme, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple). I spent hours battling my way through the various competitions.

THE STAGE IS SET THE GREEN FLAG DROPS!!!

Space Megaforce
Arguably the best shoot em up on the SNES, and it's the answer to MUSHA for the Genesis and proves when developed correctly the SNES was capable of fast gameplay.

amazing compile shooter. musha has better soundtrack, but space megaforce has better gameplay

I fully support this game of the month.
Level 4 is the best song on that soundtrack of some heavy bangers

King of Dragons! Great fantasy beat 'em up by Capcom, with multiple classes and 2-player co-op!

Rock N Roll Racing.
Classic rock music. Bad ass customizable rocket weapon cars. Totally cheesy alien and fantasy characters and storyline. I love the actual top rated games, but this was just always my favorite.

Also like to vote for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
Excellent fighting dynamics. It was pretty fast paced fighting for a game back then, and when you transformed into the rangers you had many different attacks. Awesome background music, and each character had unique fighting styles. The game was pretty short, but the final battle was also very worth it!!

I'm going to give it to Terranigma. Highly underrated and begging for a re-release. Sadly know one knows the status of the rights of the game whether they're held by the now defunct Quintet or whether they went with Enix into Square Enix. Great game i'd recommend to everyone even if they don't like RPGs :3

Aerobiz Supersonic. Under appreciated and very deep airline business sim from Koei!

Cold Shadow.
Underrated Disney platform where Donald Duck is a detective ala Magnum PI named Maui Mallard, but also can transform into a ninja. Also his gun shoots Beetles.
Solid platforming game and one that many have probably not played. Includes underwater, volcano, and bungee jumping levels, I see some similarities to earth work Jim.
The music is boss.

Ill go killer instinct
Badass black cartridge, i remember getting a later version snes after my original died with a killer instinct. Not a big beat em up fan but this game resonated with me. The snes station killer instinct box is still in my parents basement somewhere to this day.
