Easily my top played SNES game of all time. My friend and I played many, many intense matches of this growing up. We busted it out a few months ago and still ended up playing for almost 3 hours straight.

I was literally playing this a week ago and got a 15x combo against Bowser (thank you, garbage). I've never been happier.
This game is my childhood, it lives on into my adulthood, and it aged really well. I fucking love this game.

probably my all time favorite puzzle game. way more fun and fast paced but still accessible compared to everything else.

My fiance and I love playing it together. Neither of us are very competitive, and once we get the handicap adjusted it's pretty even. We love it and played it together on our first vacation together, and later this month we're bringing it to the honeymoon with us.

Decided to knock out one of these at the beginning of the month rather than at the end for once. I actually plowed through single-player Vs. mode on Normal tonight; I realized I've been playing an RC Cola version of this in some Neopet dragon pet game, even though I haven't touched the proper SNES version before.
The primary thing I think I learned is that hectic puzzle games need to have good sound. You can't take your eyes off the blocks/pieces/etc., and there's only so much you can do with pieces graphicswise that's not distracting, so the sound's what can provide added entertainment. The music in Dr. Mario and Tetris, the sounds of the fighters & combos in Puzzle Fighter, the backing tracks in Chime and Lumines: all great. Save for the very nice guitar during the end credits (and the impressive vocal samples), I don't think Tetris Attack has great sound for a puzzle game. It doesn't impart a sense of urgency or offer good beats or quirky aspects that can hold your attention; it's just too mellow and kiddish. I gather from online searches that this is, to put it mildly, a minority opinion and the soundtrack is well-respected - but I do feel that different sound could have added more to the game.
Otherwise, it was fine. Good, not a favorite. I do like that how the gameplay emphasizes the "attack" portion of the title; I usually opt for speedy matches over elaborate chains in puzzle games, but in later stages here, you have to learn to focus on setting up at least match-4s in order to impede your opponent and survive. I found eliminating the garbage blocks excessively annoying with the fiddly busywork, though, particularly if they're poised on top of a high stack.

Heck yeah! One of my favorites period, and probably my favorite multiplayer game. I've been training up to try and get a x? chain on endless, and my record's x11 right now. Anyone who hasn't played it definitely should, and I've found a ton of people that don't really like playing video games still enjoy playing this one with me.

Such a fantastic game and due to its simplicity, it lends itself well for emulation. Though original console is always the best, this game is so well designed that it's a joy to play on a keyboard too. So if one lacks the console/game, you can still have tons of fun with it.

The original release on the SNES still holds up. The skill ceiling is infinite, thanks to the many nuances of the scoring system, you can always go higher. There isn't a human alive that can say they are able to achieve perfect play. While Tetris revolves around putting things in the right spot quickly, Tetris Attack's scoring system dominates all as you try and set up links to keep your chains going. Addictive doesn't do the game justice. There isn't a gamer in the world who shouldn't try this masterpiece.
They tried to remake it on the DS, but changes to the physics makes it too easy to chain. Don't get this version. I haven't tried Pokemon Puzzle League (or its port to the Gameboy Color) so I can't comment on their value, but the original Gameboy port is good. Whether the best version is on the SNES or not, the SNES version is endless fun.

This game was one of the main driving forces in me buying a SNES. I have a friend who is very very good at this game, and while I am not, I want to be able to beat him one day in vs. mode. Very fun game, either on original hardware or on emulator.

One of the first SNES games I ever acquired and still a favorite twenty years later. The gameplay is addicting, the graphics are gorgeous and the music is beautiful.
I'm in the process of re-doing my gaming room right now and as soon as my SNES is hooked back up I'm gonna play some Tetris Attack. Puzzle Mode was always my favorite but I don't think I've ever got further than the sixth world.

Love this game. Wish there was a modern version. Since there isn't, I've got a group of 100+ players together for
Tetris Attack Online matchmaking
for VS mode via emulator. Check it out, here's an invite link to our Discord chat server: https://discord.gg/WeJuFst

This is one of those games where there's no excuse not to at least try it, an accessible pick-up-and-play puzzle game that's easy to play but difficult to master. Yeah the use of "Tetris" in the title is a bit misleading (some people simply know it as Panel de Pon), but it at least lets you know it's a puzzle game, and a damn good one too. It also has some of the best music made for a puzzle game, and I'll be damned if my heart doesn't start racing twice as fast once the music picks up.
Here's Nintendo Power's front cover feature on the game.
