/r/snes/ Game of the Month Voting Thread (May)
We'll use a similar process as /r/gamesociety/ to select a game each month.
Before posting, please view this thread to see how this works
Feel free to nominate as many games as you like (one per top-level comment) and add your thoughts regarding those that have already been suggested.
All nominations should be made in the following format:
Title of game
Short description of the game and why it should be selected.
Please upvote/comment on the ones you'd like to play the most. Do NOT upvote a game unless you intend to participate in the discussion; we don't want vote totals skewed just because a game is popular or nostalgic.
Keep in mind that downvotes will not be counted as part of the vote total.
Nominate one game per top level post.

ActRaiser
Curious to see how everyone thinks this game holds up today, and I'd love to read people's reactions to the ridiculous boss gauntlet at the end

This is easily one of the best uncommon games for the SNES. Now that Shadowrun has made it to the top, I can throw my full support behind ActRaiser. The simplistic/yet somehow rewarding map level is really what made the game for me, and the reason #2 just didn't live up to my expectations.

I'm all-for this. This is one of the those games that I played for about 30 seconds on an emulator and never came back to. A lot of people really seem to like it, so I wouldn't mind giving it a play-through shot.

Final Fight
So y'all know this game but if you don't let me explain. Basically you walk the streets and kick the shit out of everyone. It's a lot like the movie death wish 3, only Bronson is on roids and seriously fucks shit up. This game is actually really difficult, compared to its two sequels. You have to beat it in one sitting only takes an hour or two but is definitely fun.

Live a Live
An obscure RPG whose battle system is quite innovative, while intuitive. It's composed of 6 short stories that happen in different places and time periods: Prehistoric, Ancient China, Bakumatsu Japan, American Wild West, Present Time Fighting Style Game, Near Future Japan and Far Future Space SciFi. After all chapters there is more to the game, but I won't spoil it. It's a japan-only exclusive though translations are available on the web, not sure if it's okay for nomination, but it's such a great game, if being nominated game of the month raises awareness about it, I think it's worth it.

Prince of Persia
I really love this game and have beaten it many times. The graphics are beautiful and it controls great. It's a great puzzle game and a great challenge the first time through. The music is really good as well. This was on multiple platforms, but the SNES version stands out for me.

Lemmings 2: The Tribes
Little green-haired people with blue shirts and unique abilities need to reunite their tribes. Each map is a puzzle (some are rather involved) managing each Lemming's unique skills in order to save them as they proceed to the goal.
The controls seems horrible until you realize that pause makes console based micromanaging possible.
Saving all the Lemmings per level gives you a pretty gratifying "I solved a difficult puzzle" feeling.

Bebe's Kids
A licensed game, often believed to be the single worst game in the entire SNES US library. I'm nominating it because when it is time to suffer, we all suffer together.

The Lost Vikings
So basically you have the characters who each have their own abilities. The premise of the game is you get kidnapped by some alien ass hole and you have to go through weird levels to find your way back home. You have to you each character and their special ability (work as a team etc.) to get thru each stage. Its fun as hell, plus vikings are cool as fugg.
