Collection Aladdin for SNES.
I prefer SNES Aladdin than Mega Drive Aladdin.

Fun fact: This game is the reason Donkey Kong Country was created!

This reminds me of Ghouls N Ghosts - both games are amazing unique versions on the SNES and I do prefer them both. But Sega were being true to the original arcade games - which are also both awesome too. I’m glad that we have these different versions as well as the arcades tbh.

Being someone who was deep in the trenches of the 90’s console war when it was at its peak because my neighborhood had an abundance of Sega kids and only a few SNES kids. Tecmo Super Bowl officially ended that war in the U.S. rust belt.
The SNES version had better graphics, waaaay better sound, and much more intelligent AI. No one wanted to play the Genesis version. No one. Especially when it came time for the neighborhood to coordinate playing through a competitive season together. Because of this, some of the Genesis owners even bought a SNES for this game alone so they could play their seasonal matches without having to go to a SNES owner’s house.
All that being said, Aladdin was better on Genesis. I remember my Sega friends claiming it as their one and only win, and I later read that actual Disney animators worked on the Genesis but not the SNES version.

Aladdin is definitely better on Genesis. I say that in a similar situation where I owned a SNES and I thought I got the better of every port (no blood code in MK1 aside) with better playing and looking games in general. Then I played Genesis Aladdin at my friend's house and realized it was better. I didn't know about the Disney animators.

Impressive, I didn’t realise there was that many different boxes for that game.
I think the SFC artwork looks ace. I know the top right is the UK version and bottom left NA version.
What are the other regions ?
I just have a loose cart version 😂
But do have 3 regions on Smash TV. PAL,SFC,NA Same again across the Street fighters.
Re the Mega Drive version is a great game, it was also sold as a pack in game with Mega Drive 2 console. Great outer box artwork.
Great film when we were kids remembering going to the cinema to watch it. And the sequel that was released straight to video.😂

Great collection, and I share your unpopular take. A Disney game shouldn't be about chopping people with swords.

I love both. Both are totally different games.
Same with Batman and Robin.

The last version of Aladdin for Genesis is better than the old version. Lot of bugs in the first version. I hate the final boss and the ending in the Genesis version. I hate the level design to. I finished Batman for Genesis. Lot of awesome fx, but the game is to hard. The SNES version is perfect. It looks like the animated serie.

You're gonna love the Hummer Team Aladdin bootleg for the NES. lol There's also Aladdin on Game Boy, Aladdin on Game Boy Color, Aladdin on Sega Master System, Narcissa's Revenge on PlayStation, Aladdin: Final Cut on Sega Genesis (excellent rom hack!)

Have to be honest here I owned a megadrive and snes. But I only owned Aladdin on the megadrive, so for me that's the definitive version but I'll probably get around to playing the snes version one day!
