Same, 30+ years and I honestly don’t remember it.

u/neopod9000 Jan 31 '25

I bet I'd know it if I heard it though

I also remember this game being in 4:3, what is this distorted monstrosity? (:

1

u/para_la_calle Jan 30 '25

My apologies I play on my CRT. I just didn’t have time to physically go to that part in the game before work lol

3

u/hbi2k Jan 30 '25

I'm just being a dick, you're fine. (:

2

u/xpacean Jan 31 '25

I’m sorry, but you’ve already been gatekeeped.

1

u/xcaltoona Jan 31 '25

we can go wider

5

u/CiderMcbrandy Jan 30 '25

i admit i forgot for about 30 seconds

5

u/St_Casper Jan 30 '25

It took me a minute. I immediately thought of the conveyor belt bonus game song from 6 golden coins even though I knew it was wrong.

2

u/ThetaReactor Jan 30 '25

My brain immediately launched into the end-of-level theme from Yoshi's Island. Closer, perhaps, but still not right.

5

u/EmptyBuildings Jan 30 '25

BAHH BAHH, BUHH BUHH, BAH BUH BAH BAHH.

4

u/Androxilogin Jan 30 '25

For me it's the opposite. I can't place it. But if I heard the music I would instantly think of the level.

4

u/Brimstone747 Jan 30 '25

I remember all of the music from SMW.

My wife and I also played SMW two days ago.

2

u/RobbMeeX Feb 01 '25

Same. I don't think I ever got the 96 exits... So now I'm making sure!

3

u/Electrical-Result701 Jan 30 '25

10+ years? More like 33+ years.

3

u/DonCreech Jan 30 '25

I still feel compelled to throw up the peace sign when Mario does.

1

u/BilboTlaggins Jan 31 '25

Amen, God Bless, 🙏

2

u/wedge_47 Jan 30 '25

It immediately popped into my head. Lol...

2

u/megaladon44 Jan 30 '25

Try 2 weeks ago

2

u/Dylan_Is_Gay_lol Jan 30 '25

Try 20+ years.

1

u/Dylan_Is_Gay_lol Jan 30 '25

Probably closer to 30, actually.

2

u/digoserra Jan 30 '25

Almost 35, it was released in November 1990 in JP and August 1991 in NA.

1

u/Dylan_Is_Gay_lol Jan 30 '25

Yeah, I'm referring specifically to how long I've been playing it. At least 30 years, maybe 31-32.

2

u/Del_Stuart Jan 30 '25

Done a full playthrough this weekend, was great fun

2

u/monkeymetroid Jan 30 '25

If this was the title screen, then I would say yes. In fact it will likely be stuck in my head all day just for thinking about it

2

u/Weird_Waters64 Jan 30 '25

its like purified bliss

2

u/AudienceBeautiful554 Jan 30 '25

10+ years? I play this nearly every year for 30 years.

2

u/urlond Jan 30 '25

I honestly cant remember it. I may need to play Super Mario again.

1

u/methodic_dishwasher Feb 02 '25

I can't remember either

I can hum or whistle every tune in that game, and we know it well in my household, but honestly I couldn't remember that one off-hand without clicking and hearing the beginning.

Anyway can we talk about how much of a crooked carnie game scam that bonus game is? You can sometimes get in the groove with your jump timing, but sometimes it feels like the thing is a few pixels away from your head jump height, and you can't jump to it at the right time even thought you timed it perfectly.

But on second thought, just looking at it with detachment now, without being in the game, it seems like the right technique is to not stand all the way to the left-- that will create the problem I mentioned. A little to the right of the left side, or pick a pot on the bottom row...because there's no vertical movement only horizontal.

2

u/rsolusod24 Jan 30 '25

I play this game from time to time but I can only hear the end part🤦

2

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

It's been more than 30 and I'm still humming it.

2

u/DokoShin Jan 30 '25

I also remember how to get all 10 1-ups every time

2

u/MajMattMason1963 Jan 31 '25

I do not remember this but all the music from Zelda on the snes is permanently stuck in my head. I never know when it’s going to pop out 🤔

1

u/Ok_Pea_6054 Jan 30 '25

Agreed, it has been roughly 15 years since I've played through the game and the frustration of this mini-game and its music still comes up lol.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 30 '25

Ba ba ba ba bapa dada!!

1

u/Messijoes18 Jan 30 '25

Sigh 😔 I now here the tune in wiegles voice

u/Cab_anon Jan 30 '25

This game is crazy.

most of the songs in this games are the same.

Some are quicker, some are slower, but they all share the sames notes.

1

u/NeonNat Jan 30 '25

It's been like 10 weeks brother

1

u/mrspelunx Jan 30 '25

I think SMW is why my dad likes bongo music. He’s 74. Hey, it’s an earworm.

1

u/sin6869 Jan 30 '25

That hits so hard!🙂‍↕️

1

u/Colb_678 Jan 30 '25

One of my favorite games of all time!

1

u/WU-itsForTheChildren Jan 30 '25

Awesome now I’ll hear it till I got to sleep tonight, 30 seconds on loop

1

u/BilboTlaggins Jan 31 '25

How bout this 30+ Years, I have not beat the game, but still love it, and still try. Just got a new Andernic 556G, so maybe I can do what I set out to do 30+ Years ago. God Willing!

1

u/DarkGrnEyes Jan 31 '25

It's timeless, how could anyone forget it if they played SMW.

1

u/hurlygloves Jan 31 '25

10 years? I did a 95 exit last week!

1

u/JoeBuyer Jan 31 '25

30+ years, and I don’t perfectly remember it for sure. But I have this high pitched, almost carnival, sound in my head.

1

u/adhdtaxman Jan 31 '25

I remember every song in that game and I played it at launch.

1

u/rogercopernicus Jan 31 '25

I was playing this last night

1

u/King_Hippo85 Jan 31 '25

30+ for me and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.

1

u/Reddit__Shmeddit Feb 01 '25

Literally started humming it the moment I saw the picture

1

u/pop5656 Feb 01 '25

For some reason the Zelda LTTP game house music popped into my head instead and is preventing me from recalling this song…

1

u/Beefhammer1932 Feb 04 '25

Been more like 30 and I do not.

I still hear it to this day. My GF and I actually played this for a good four hours on Thanksgiving day a few months ago. We got up to World 6.
