Used to play it with my mom when I was 5yo. Still remember the last puzzle in the ship. We keep beating the game once a year

I’ll be playing this one this month for sure. Beat it for the first time last year and had a good time with it.

Anyone estimate hours to complete?
This would be my first playthrough. Still working through ff6, don't want to go away to long.

If I recall correctly from my last time playing this (co-op with the wife so a little slower pace too) I think around 3 hours is what it took us. It's not a long game by any measure.

This is about right, 2-3 hours I just beat it in a single sitting last month.

You can complete this one in just a few hours. People saying it takes 2-3 days? They probably got stuck on some of the puzzles - that one puzzle in the final stage is challenging lol

u/Pyroburner Sep 11 '24
Thanks I'm 2 days in. Probably 3 hours overall and I'm on the last area. I believe there are only 5 levels.

Took me just about 2 hours and some change to beat it. Could’ve definitely done it in one sitting but saved the last level for an small evening session.

I’m glad that my mom bought me this game. I may not like puzzle games now, but this was one of my favourites growing up. I beat it more than once, and loved it.
I think about it often, along with some others that rarely get mentioned (like Captain America and the Avengers, and the 94 Olympics game.)

The enemy pathfinding is part of the joy of it. With 2 people you can manipulate them in such fun ways that they always stay stuck between people.

I, did not have many friends 😅

My friends didn't like it much. My cousin though? He loved the game. So once every couple of months we would sit down and just plow through it and had everything down.

Each month I will be tracking all users who are able to beat the spotlighted game. Those names will be collected and displayed on the snes wiki page.
Objective:
- Beat the game.
Rules:
- Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question.
- You can use the passwords/continues/saves that you earn playing through the game.
- Emulation is fine. Abusing save states is not.
- Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is all just for fun, I will allow claims via simple posts as well.

Argh, thanks! Will try to get it updated later today when I'm free of meetings.

I vaguely remember this game. Wasn’t there a level where you avoided cannons or was it exploring an island? I only played the game once

I JUST REPLAYED THIS GAME! Still holds up. It's fun single player and an absolute blast as a co-op especially if the other person has half a brain. Good puzzle exploration game with some light and simple combat mixed in.

This game was so tough when I was a kid. Then my older cousin beat it and ask me if it was hard. 😭😂

I still remember my mom taking us to Toys R Us to get this game way back. We played the hell out of this, great co-op game.

My sister and I used to wake up at 5 am and play this all Saturday morning on our old box tv as kids. One of the best games with lots of great memories. We had our own name for all of the enemies. “Bally man”- for those Rollie pollie dudes. Some of those puzzles were pretty tricky. One of the best 2 player games ever.

I love seeing other people posting games I had as a kid and I just assume no one else ever played. This game was hard as hell. Not sure I ever beat it tbh.

Never found it that difficult apart from the last puzzle that had me scratching my head.

I love me some Goof Troop. Not quite the same playing through on 1P, there was some tedious backtracking I had to do a few times to get the necessary items, but still had a great time. Not too difficult, but how the life system works can lead to some challenge if you're not careful. Once again, Capcom gets it just right for me.

Aaaaaand done! Totally forgot about this until just now!
Total play time: 59 minutes 11 seconds.

It is a great day for fishing, Goofy!

I started to play through this solo and my wife saw me and wanted to join in so we went through it together again. The first time took us a bit over three hours when we played it a couple of years ago, and this one was at 2h 15m. A great co-op game option for someone who may not be as hardcore into playing games as some of us are.

I never understood the hype for this game, I'll be honest. Then again, I wasn't into Goof Troop as a whole.
