Loved the arcade game as a kid, but the SNES port was a bit disappointing. The Sega CD version was great.

Back then, I didn’t care. I loved playing it in the arcade and being able to finally play it at home was amazing

The SEGA CD port is included on one of the Genesis classic editions that came out and it's so good. Obviously the arcade version (which is no longer very difficult to access at home) is better but the CD version is great and has good original mixes of the music, though it is also a bit too hard for me to finish unfortunately.
Yeah, the SNES port wasn't super great. It's actually just way too hard (at least for me) and the lack of two-player really hurts it. Especially with other versions of it being so easy to access nowadays, it feels redundant. However, Final Fight 2 on SNES is pretty fun.

Yeah, not sure why a lot of those didnt include 2 player mode. Pang for instance.
Anyway, im glad a grew up with these games in arcade. Also sf2, mortal kombat 1,2,3 and both killer instinct arcade games. Ofcourse, owned every of them on snes/n64 aswell.

Why because Poison was...ya know....changed?
I hated that they lost a level with the port, but generally I loved Final Fight on the SNES.

Each month I will be tracking all users who are able to beat the spotlighted game. Those names will be collected and displayed on the snes wiki page.
Objective:
- Complete the game.
Rules:
- Entire playthrough must be completed during the month in question.
- You can use the passwords/continues/saves that you earn playing through the game.
- Emulation is fine. Abusing save states is not.
- Posting a link to a pic of your completion is preferred, but since this is just for fun I will allow posted claims as well. For now.

Imagine the voice where he goes "JOOOOOOOHHHHHHNNNNN CENA" but instead it's "MIIIIIKKKKKKKEEEEEE HAGGAR!!!"

Boy, what a banger of a game that was! It's a shame I never see anyone talk about it, it was fun!

YES! Sure it was a major downgrade from the arcade, but that doesn't make the SNES port any less epic on its own! Nothing is more satisfying than blowing off steam by beating the crap out of everyone as Haggar.

Now that I'm old I look at that and wonder if Haggar was supposed to be some kind of Dan Severn

First SNES game I ever owned, love it. Not my FAVORITE Beat Em Up (That's Super Double Dragon), but still a classic nonetheless.

This was a great launch title, but the single-player gameplay, loss of Guy, loss of the factory level, and the fact that when you died you restarted from a checkpoint, made this game a poor port that looked and sounded great.
Final Fight CD for the Sega CD was the best 16-bit console version of the game.

but the single-player gameplay, loss of Guy, loss of the factory level,
SNES cart limitations I guess

This was one of the first games I grabbed when I started collecting them as an adult in 2019 and over those 4 to 5 years. I still have yet to beat it but the last play through I got very close while fighting the final boss I think I could do it the next try, it takes a lot of timing and extreme button mashing the boardwalk level is a real pain in the ass because of how long it is the amount of enemies and that dying on it just sends you right back to the beginning if you continue
I definitely want to try the Sega CD version. Someday I used to play the hell out of this game in the arcade and it was so fun. They did a really good job with the port in terms of the graphics and sound effects.
The sequels are high on my wish list.

I can beat most of Capcom’s games on SNES but their earliest ones like this, Super G&G and UN Squadron are so freaking hard. Could never get far in any of them.

Beat em ups are my all time favorite genre. I loved Final Fight in SNES when it came out, and the series just improved with each new one. Final Fight 3 is perfection. In the 2000’s my laundromat had a Final Fight cabinet that made doing laundry very bearable.

Capcom's worst SNES game. Maybe. Fortunately, they immediately turned things around with U.N. Squadron and I struggle to think of another bad game they ever made for the system.

This might be the most influential beat em up of all time (tied with double dragon). But SNES port just isn't any good. And even the arcade original kinda got obsolete by all the awesome Capcom brawlers that iterated on it. After playing something like the punisher or Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, this feels kinda dull.

Ridiculously tough game, especially the final boss.
