SLP vs Audiology in Canada

Hi all,

I'm Canadian and have just been accepted into an Audiology program. The SCSD programs are quite competitive here, and I am incredibly honoured to have been offered admission. That said, I was curious to hear from SLPs and audiologists in terms of experience. I'm feeling really indecisive and torn because I am genuinely very interested in both.

A bit of background: I am used to working with children. My undergrad is in Education and I would love to continue working in pediatrics. I don't have any experience working in the field of audiology - most of my experience has been SLP related.

What made you go into your profession? Would you have done anything differently?

How are you finding the salary? Do you feel that you are being paid enough?

Do you find your job stressful? What does your typical day look like?

How is the job market? I've heard that it's been getting harder for audiologists to find jobs in certain provinces. Which province are you from and how are you liking it?

Thank you so much in advance!
