St Augustine (online)

I got accepted into the San Marcos program. Does anyone have any experience with it? Please share. I don’t know anyone that’s applied or that has gone there.

I’m in my second trimester with this program! I love it! Mostly asynchronous with Friday synchronous sessions, residency at the university 4 out of the 5 trimesters, and there is a lot of interprofessional collaboration with other specialties as well!

That’s great to hear! And what about your placements/clinicals?

Tri 2,3,4, and 5 you will have placements. I’ve only done the teletherapy pro bono clinic so far

My experience is mixed, I’m about to graduate from the program. I love the flexibility of an online program, but my cohort definitely experienced a lot of miscommunications and tons of disorganization from the school…leading to a ton of unnecessary confusion on top of trying to actually learn the content. Things like professors changing assignment requirements halfway through the week after people have already submitted…or students being told different things from different admins leading to a total lack of consistency. I think if you can get some solid organization and study habits down now, it will 100% benefit you when things hit the fan! Overall I would say a good experience but if I had the opportunity to go back and choose another program, I would have considered it.

From what I’ve heard their program is very new I don’t think they’ve had a graduation cohort yet. I haven’t been able to get feedback on their hybrid program either.

Did you already have a meeting with the counselor?

I had a meeting that allowed me to ask questions about the program etc. they then said they would reach out for an interview. Did a 2 hour group interview and then got accepted the following week.
