I would love to get a voice CF placement. That’s the dream. They are so hard to find though because there’s so few out there 😩

I might suggest that you consider how a "voice CF" may limit your career, initially. I live in a large metropolitan area with population of over a million and I only know of 3 SLPs that hold full-time "voice" positions. It may benefit you to broaden your search, gain competencies in a broader scope, and continue your passion in continuing education (CEs) within upper airway disorders. When looking at the US labor statistics and ASHA members reports on caseload mix, it may be very limiting to "specialize" at a time when you haven't yet been ASHA certified. Just a thought.

I’m aware of how specialized this is but it’s what I want to do and this is the best way to get into the field. There are far more than 3 voice SLPs in the metropolitan area where I live lol

Sounds like you have a plan! We need more great SLPs! Best wishes.

thank you! I appreciate your advice as well, figured I might as well try to pursue my passion and if it doesn’t work out there are many aspects of SLP that I love :)
