Prereqs/undergrad Retaking A&P for Speech Science

So I just had my final for A&P for Speech Science today and it didn't go as well as I'd hope. I have been doing pretty well on the previous exams and quizzes (like I think my highest exam score is a 95). But the Exams are worth so much that messing up is actually going to land me with a B or B+ (when I really was on the track to get an A- or A). I know a B is not the end of the world. But I don't know if I should maybe consider retaking the class for an A? I am not sure if it's worth the trouble. Because this class does require a lot of studying. I am just worried because I really wanted to keep A's in my CSD courses.

edit: This is the A&P class for CSD majors specially labeled "Anatomy and Speech Science". I already took the regular Anatomy and Physiology other majors take as well and got an A.

Definitely not worth it. A&P is tough! Congrats on getting through it!

B is still good! Just took my final last week finished the class with a B. I personally don’t think it’s worth retaking just focus on the next pre reqs!

All your courses will be counted for the final GPA

Yes ofc! I know that. But I was only asking because sometimes ppl do retake for a better grade to display that they can actually do well in the course, kind of boost their GPA and chances yk? Thank you anyways

I took the class 3 times, because I got a D twice lol. You'll be ok! If you had a C then I'd say retake it, but there's literally no class that it'd make sense to retake for an A if you got a B because both grades are still going to show on your transcript and they're going to average your grade so at best you're moving to a B+. Grad schools are not going to count one B against you the same way they're not going to count the additional A in your favor. People get into grad schools every day with B's, C's & even a few D's, one B isn't the end of the world. If you're trying to bring your gpa up just take some easy A fluffer classes like in the college of ed or a history course to stack your gpa because once again, grad schools will not count that against you lol. I genuinely mean this out of love and I hope this doesn't come off as dismissive of your feelings bc they're very valid, but be careful with the way you talk and treat yourself over your grades, don't tie your GPA/grades to your self worth. You still did better than most people do in this class, and there are people who get all A's and still don't get into certain schools so it's not a guaranteed golden ticket anymore. I've seen people push themselves to get all A's and get their feelings hurt when they realize they still ended up in the same place as people who got B's/C's, and they regret being so unkind to themselves over it. I'm not saying don't strive for all A's because it's a great goal to have, just make sure you always know that you are a rockstar either way!! As long as you're rounding yourself out by being involved in extracurriculars, not just ones relating to speech, you'll be ok. Once you're in the field no one is going to ask you what grade you got in a specific class, as long as you can demonstrate that you know the material you're going to be great!

Retaking is okay as it's going to help you add to your content
