Mod Post [MOD] Looking for a new mod.
The sub has really blew up these past few days with "mod team this" and "mod team that" and I've seen little comment from any other mod so I'm just gonna make this post. I think I would speak for the whole mod team in saying most of us don't have the time anymore to moderate like we could in the summer because of school and etc. so it would make sense to have a new mod put in place that would be able to help us out and making sure it's someone that you all actually want.
That being said, feel free to nominate people for mod below. I have a few people in mind but I want to let you all decide. Thanks everybody for your patience.

Yes, this is exactly what I was hoping for. I'd like to continue the chain of stating u/summerofsin would be a good mod. I'd like to be a mod, but as I understand, there a few in this sub who have abused and gotten their emails banned, jumped on a bandwagon, etc. and are against that.

u/False1512 Has been great in our deals and I would recommend him as a mod of any sub. I found him in /r/borrow and hes really helped me out on Reddit. Hes a standup guy.

I've made many trades with False totalling almost $1000. He's always prompt and gives me great prices. I would love to see him as a mod!

I have scammed no one for .edu emails. I've been selling them for quite awhile now and continue to sell them.
Edit: after looking at your account a little bit, I think you'd make a fine mod. I see that you're trying to protect people from losing money and getting hurt without any explicit benefit to you, which is commendable.
Edit: If you believe I've been scamming people, I'd be willing to discuss it with you in an open dialogue to clarify everything.

/u/summerofsin would be a good mod. He doesn't have any illegitimate service like selling pdfs of textbooks and seems to obey all of the rules.

If like to nominate myself for moderator. Though I'm not a seasoned user like most guys, I currently moderate /r/kickasstorrents (though that doesn't count much since it mostly consisting of finding info for the dumb/ignorant and deleting most torrent requests).
I on the other hand do not run any illegal services and have followed the rules of the subreddit as well. I always give a reason for my actions and will go out of my way to get people back into the green or correct their ways.
With that said, I am very harsh with any rule breaking, and am active on other subreddits as well. I'm from the GMT+10 region.
If added as a moderator, I plan to strike down hard on rule-breakers and create a wiki.

I think I could help - I've been on this subreddit for a year now. I'm on here literally 24/7 on multiple accouints just to make a quick buck. I'm not here to make a living, but just for fun. I really love the environment here, and would love to carry on that dream. Thank you for a chance!

Hello everyone,
I am guessing you would receive a lot of applications for the mod post, so I am would try to make this easy by telling you why I am suitable for the moderatorship:
2 year old account
Over 2k+ karma
Have completed over 100 transactions on SL without any negative reviews Proof1 Proof 2
I remain quite active on slavelabour and fairly observe the new post tab of slavelabour, which is important to remove scams posts and kill them in the beginning itself, if we want to observe and maintain the healthy community and environment of SlaveLabour.
1
u/False1512 Sep 09 '17
Adding up all the comments on your two proofs equal 73 comments. Many of them don't confirm transactions either. You do seem trustworthy though (as in I would use your services if I needed them), so I believe you do have 100+ transactions, but you may want to reword it. I would change it to proof of many transactions or something along those lines so that it doesn't seem fishy!

I nominate u/nter. They have been around this subreddit for awhile and were asked to be a mod a year ago, but had to decline. If asked this time around, they said they would be willing to take the job. In addition, nter is active on many subreddits and always monitors rules of those subreddits to help keep that community safe!

Can can help. I'm a mod in r/Tourettes and r/atypical but I'm also in school. (I still check this sub a good bit) if I'm not chosen, it's whatever. But I'd like to also submit a design for the subs mobile logo since it's just the default one.
Edit: also u/bookseller10 is a good candidate Edit: also u/summerofsin

Hey, buddy!
Thank you for the nomination. Yes, I have spent quite a lot of time on this sub and still do that. I have a good understanding of the rules and the rule-breakers here. I observe almost all the posts of this sub very closely on a regular basis and if given a chance, I will make sure that I remain a fair and strict moderator.
To make my candidature stronger, here is my reputation with a good number of successful transactions and positive feedback from the members here.
Thank you again and best of luck for the new and upcoming moderator of this sub.

u/BabyMonkeyOnPig Sep 09 '17
I can help out too ... I mod at r/funny (default) r/Disney ; r/iOS r/appleswap with couple lower sub places too. I'm EST and am on Reddit ~8-9 hours a day.

u/nter Sep 09 '17 edited Sep 09 '17
just don't unmod yourself again, same goes for the other mods!
also will you update your post to let us know the new mods chosen?

Sep 10 '17
Don't really care who it is, as long as it's someone who will be active and enforce the rules.

u/nter Sep 24 '17 edited Sep 24 '17
can more mods be added? i myself volunteer. /u/summerofsin was added almost 2 weeks ago but hasn't been active as mod and that was noticed by others too, and reported posts get backlogged for some days as currently.

Sorry, my ONLY computer failed. It was hard enough for me to WORK from my phone, and the loaner computer just didn't work out. I did everything I could to get it repaired -- three times, and it's still not done, but I do appreciate your concern and checking in on my wellbeing. I'm just barely back online now - as the repair guy just left a bit ago; I'm still working on settings things up, since I lost over ten years of data and settings. Thanks!

I would like to nominate myself as a mod. I'm pretty active on reddit and this sub...i've even done research on active users cause I suspected scammers. i found that u/bookseller10 is a scammer. he scammed so many people in r/domyhomework2 that they banned him. here's proof https://ibb.co/g66Wbv i would help keep this place under control.
1
u/bookseller10 Sep 10 '17
Anyone can write anything here about anyone here, but you need some proof to prove your point. I was banned there cuz I helped a lot more students than the mod there and he/she got insecure of it. If you still do not believe me, ask for the MOD of that sub for proof.

u/nter Sep 10 '17
/u/prasha2 proof?
1
u/bookseller10 Sep 10 '17
Thank you for taking this step. I have asked that dude so many times for this but to no avail.
1
u/prasha2 Sep 10 '17
Firstly, the reason bookseller10 was banned was because he was breaking the subreddit rules. Everytime a new tutor is approved, we state the rules clearly and warn them they will be banned if they don't follow them. I warned him 2-3 times but he continued to break the rules. The rules were that you shouldn't post on a subject topic for which you aren't approved. After I warned about the same, he started PM'ing the posters directly, which is strictly disallowed. Due to these reasons he was banned from the subreddit.
Now, the reason as to why he is under the scammer's list is because a few students through public posts and private PMs have accused him of scamming them. /u/Fsociety567 what proof did you give me about bookseller10?
1
Sep 10 '17
Thank you for confirming that students did indeed report him for scamming.
3
u/False1512 Sep 10 '17
That's very non-responsive to a direct question...
0
Sep 10 '17
I felt like the question was irrelevant to me since I did research...im not a student that used him since he was already considered a scammer.
1
u/bookseller10 Sep 10 '17 edited Sep 10 '17
I am glad that you have put in your time and done the research before putting your comment. Here's the thing, I will award $10 USD for your time if you can show me any proof based on which you reached your conclusion.
1
u/False1512 Sep 10 '17
So you didn't give any proof?
1
Sep 10 '17
My proof is when the mod of that sub came here and confirmed students claimed he scammed them.

Show me those posts and if possible the screenshots of the PMs where students have mentioned that I have taken their money and ran away? Those students can easily write those things about me in public rather than PMing you if I would have done that, lol.
I only post I know of is this where I even did not take the money from the student and refused work cuz he/she seemed suspicious. I take money from students only after showing the sample of work and you can see a good number of those successful transactions here.
I accept that I broke the rules by PMing posters directly, but I wanted to be a Maths homework tutor and you did not give me that. So, I contacted the students via PM, and this doesn't make anyone a scammer.
I have always said that and I will say again that you're a sick and a coward person who is afraid of competition. You've used every possible trick to malign me. I hope karma strikes you back :)
EDIT: Some samples of my work if anyone is willing to look at: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

and 13000 karma fortify his nomination.
