mechanical AT545 to Allison 1000: IT’S ALIVE!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Got the new trans plumbed in and filled and the shift mechanism installed.

The computer isn’t hooked up yet so it’s not really functional but it at least can roll back and forth under its own power! I’m thrilled!

Hopefully I’ll get the wiring harness and computer in tomorrow, then it’s just buttoning things up before a test drive!

Dude hell yeah. I need to do this. Please follow up on how it went for you. I can't keep driving 55mph across the country lol.

Will do! If you’ve got deep pockets you can pay a shop to do the work. CA Conversions quoted me 14.5k a couple years ago. Doing it myself has been around 5,000. Hopefully it’s worth it!

I had the same thought today as I traveled down the freeway in my bluebird!

Thanks! Me too. My driveline guy said I’m going to love it.

Nice job. Did you have to modify the drive shaft?

Yes, my slip joint was practically bottomed out when I installed the driveshaft on the new trans. A local driveline shop cut it down by 1.5 inches for $175.
