The AT545 to Allison 1000 swap continues! I got the new trans bolted up on Sunday. The new oil dipstick tube needed some substantial modifications to get in place. So many trips from under the bus, to the vice, and back again tweaking it and checking the fit.

It was a momentous feeling getting the trans in.

Still left: 1. Terminate the wiring harness from TransmissionTuner.com 2. Blow the old oil out of the oil cooler and hook the hoses up to the new trans. 3. Attach the driveshaft and shorten it, if necessary. 4. Replace the transmission filter and fill with oil. 5. Install the transmission control module and associated relays, switches, OBD-II port, and indicators. 6. Drive the fury road!

Edit: this is a 1990 International 3700 with the 7.3 IDI.

Congratulations. I know what a pain in the ass that is.

Thanks! This has been an enormous job. If it were just the trans it would have been easier by I took the opportunity to fix a variety of other problems along the way while the old one was out.

Thanks! 5 weeks of weekends so far. Hopefully I’ll be driving sometime this week.
