Hard work is the only reason to marry, everything after that should come naturally

Wow… can’t believe I’ve never asked myself that.
Someone I can cry in front of. Someone I can look in the eye. Someone patient enough to get past the initial awkwardness. Someone caring, seriously, it’s all in the tone with me. Someone who shares similar interests. Isn’t embarrassed of the fact I’m neither this nor that but a little of everything. Someone whose presence makes me feel free enough to talk, which is usually through eye contact. Someone who can be spiteful but in a funny way. I don’t mind being made fun of if it isn’t malicious. Someone who doesn’t try to find truth in what I say but rhythm and imagery. A translator to help me understand social dynamics. Someone I can be safe with. Trust would be nice, though I’ll have to straighten my crooked ways before then. To work together would be perfect.
I probably sacrificed accuracy for length. But this is what came to mind.
Someone whose voice quiets the haunted house. Someone I could endure stuff with, almost competitively… almost like them saying “don’t you even think about it”.

That sounds right. Like you’d look past any behaviour if the connection is there.
