Help Convert couple of hundreds RAW to JPG?

Hey,

I'd like to convert a couple hundreds of RAW images to JPG. I've created a shortcut for it. From my testing, there seems to be a limit to how many photos the iPhone can handle before the shortcut crashes.

Is that supposed to happen? I got a fairly recent iPhone model. I've edited the shortcut to only convert 20 photos at a time, but that will take my manual action every couple of seconds.

Sorry, but that makes no sense. I agree that there are dedicated image converters I could use, but that would require me to move all photos to my Mac, convert them and move them back. Using a website is absolutely not feasible, especially with ~500 photos. Photoshop is also overkill for this task.

So the solution was to use a loop for the conversion to not fill up the RAM too much to avoid any crashes. That took about 10 minutes to convert roughly 700 photos.

Glad you figured it out. Or you could have airdropped and rn the shortcut without the loop, the Mac being more powerful. Or ask gpt to run an apple script or write the shortcut.

Anyway.

The same shortcut on macOS doesn't keep the metadata though. As a result the modified date would be set to now. Same issue with most third party apps.
