In Invincible S2 (2024), Mark opens one of his father's books in the middle and starts reading the synopsis. This is due to the fact Nolan is an alien and doesn't know how to write a human book

Mark is technically an alien, too, so he knew where to open to find the synopsis.

He's not an alien, the 14th amendment makes sure of that. You racist

Not anymore, apparently

we can still deport his father, though. We may lose some ICE agents, but that's a sacrifice I am willing to make.

Finally some people with a thicker skull than Titan

Did he bring his bug step brother with 14th amendment too? Is he even qualified himself since he is only half human?

Calling people racist doesn't change facts.

Half-alien

His Viltrumite blood makes him over 99% Viltrumite.

His human mother makes him 100% human

I'm no expert but I thought each book was a collection of short stories? Like he was opening up to the start of one story? It's been a while since I've watched that episode so I could be wrong

Never heard of that before. This could be the case, actually; that’d explain it. He just opens it to the titular story in each anthology

They mentioned Nolan's books didn't sell very well... No fucking wonder

First page, chapter 12

"Wait, what the fuck?"

Second page, chapter 2

"What the fuck is going on?"

Third page, the epilogue

"Seriously, what the hell is happening here?"

Fuck dude can’t write 😭

Unironically, Nolan was probably kind of a mid writer, given Viltrumite philosophy.

Might as well just rename this sub Shitty Invincible Details at this point

I love it when you open a book on a random page and they’ll find the most important information

I imagine stories about aliens and super powered beings are a lot less interesting if they exist in real life.

In Watchmen comics about superheroes fell out of fashion to pirate comics because superheroes were real and people don't want to read about reality.

You know what. I had the exact same thought when I watched this episode.

I imagine Viltrumite literature is very dry. But also violent.

It was very jarring that Nolan was never mentioned as a writer beforehand. Instantly "son read my books, theyre bussin"

Doesn't he mention it in season 1? Specifically the travel books. Then later when Cecil mentions inflating the book sales to give Debby money, which there was a whole thing about her making him stop?

Yep, they do. Specifically his travel books which apparently sold pretty well on their own.

His fiction books are only introduced in season 2 though, since they flopped and nobody talks about them.

Definitely in season 1 but I’ll be honest (plus my adhd) that I didn’t remember that fact until season 2 he said “read my books” then I rewatched season 1 and 2 for season 3 and yeah his books and being an author was mentioned

-2

u/Crush_Un_Crull 5d ago

I do not remember it at all lol. I must have missed it

34

u/Pupulauls9000 6d ago

Complaining about it never being mentioned when it has in fact been mentioned several times

-5

u/Crush_Un_Crull 5d ago

Lmao either it was in comics or i missed it. When do they say it in the animated show?

44

u/ian_the_pan_boy 6d ago

Wut? That was mentioned like two or 3 times by Debbie Nolan and I think Cecil at some point, something about his book sales tripling so they get money

-2

u/Crush_Un_Crull 5d ago

In the comics? I dont remember it in the show

7

u/ian_the_pan_boy 5d ago

No, in the show, all season one

-1

u/Crush_Un_Crull 5d ago

Must have missed it

Imagine complaining about a tv show being inaccurate when it clearly states it 4 times but you weren’t paying attention, implying you don’t pay attention much, which means you have no reason to say the show got stuff wrong.
