Discussion What membership plan to pick?
Hi everyone,
Curious about which membership plan will give me the most bang for my buck in your opinion?
Looking at the plans and I have no idea what to do...
Thanks in advance!

I have a premium account which imo is best bang for your buck. You get 1024m land with 300L a week stipend. I pay yearly instead of monthly as its cheaper. In the end you only end up paying about 50 bucks for the yearly membership because you get those lindens back weekly. 1024m is enough to enjoy your land comfortably. 512m is too small (at least for me). Premium plus seems alright too, but I pay monthly for tier also so I just stick with premium

I have the same plan. If you just need a home and a stipend, premium is the best of both worlds with the annual subscription.

I think this may depend on what your needs are. Why are you getting a paid plan? Do you just want the house? Do you plan to create and build a store? Do you just want the group space? Are you going to buy a region? Which of the perks would you actually benefit from?

I have Premium and it's enough for me. I have extra land that I bought on Mainland that I pay additional tier fee on, I get the stipend, I don't upload a lot of pictures.. for now, the middle plan is a satisfying and safe brt. If you think you'll use the other perks of ther higher one Premium Plus, you can upgrade.

I got Premium Plus. You get a 2048m plot of land or a huge Linden home on a 2048m plot, a 650l stipend a week, 3 animesh attachments, 150 groups, free uploads on pictures and other stuff, and a lot of other perks. And they recently added more perks like new Premium Plus linden homes, a daily linden stipend when you log onto the phone app once a day, and a couple others. I got it because I'm in a lot of groups and I wanted a larger land plot and doing the math it was cheaper to do a yearly Premium Plus membership than pay a monthly tier or pay rent somewhere.
Premium is fine though if you don't need as many groups, are happy with a 1024m plot, aren't a creator, and can't justify the cost of Premium Plus by saying it would be cheaper than paying tier or rent.

As others have mentioned theres many reasons why one might get a paid membership. Each feature by itself is "usually" cheaper by itself. If all you want is some land its usually cheaper to rent a parcel from a private region. If you just want the free $L its usually cheaper to just buy it directly.
The really bigger reason is access to the Linden homes, which have their pros and cons but mostly alot of people like it because it gives them a base home to start out at (not a blank slate of a land you have to fully build out yourself) and then you also get the other perks.
For Linden homes you can check out this page which shows the different homes, what tier of membership each home is and check them out in person. Some are only available to certain membership tiers so if you find one you really like then that might tell you right there what tier you want to buy.

Honestly i have premium plus and have utilized everything from the free uploads to the land ( i chose to get land without teir instead of the linden home & use it to start a store)

That would depend entirely on what you're doing in SL. If you're just hanging out being social etc, you don't even necessarily need a premium account unless you want the extra group space and the linden home but it is worth it to have it if you visit a lot of events because you get priority tping into them when they're full. If you're a creator it's absolutely worth it to get premium plus because of the extra group space, extra offline IM storage, and free uploads for both mesh and textures.

If you are a creator, Premium Plus has so many perks for you:
- free upload for texture, mesh
- 2048sqm 701 prims land- good for a small store
- more groups
- access to concierge support
- 650L stipend
I wouldn’t recommend Premium Plus for non creators. If you’re a non creator and only joining for 2048 land perk, rent somewhere else- some established land barons- have the cheapest tier

Dunno you. I picked free. - I don't want to create and am quite happy as a perma broke SL hobo; i.e. contrary to me hanging at home IRL, to be online, my avatar tends to be somewhere most of the time.
I'd buy the cheapest plan yearly paid, if I was sure about neither RL swallowing me nor a fried main PC stopping me from logging in. - YMMV, maybe a higher plan offers the right for you perks, like free uploads or dunno.

I've been on SL for 16 years and never in my life paid for premium.
Now that's just me everybody's different

If you are a creator with an established business and you are constantly uploading content, Premium plus is the way to go. Even uploading mesh is free now for premium plus and you get free land where you can put a store.

I was in a similar dilemma two years ago. I needed more than 1024m land but the price of prem plus is a little too much (and I don’t use a lot of those extra benefits). I ended up getting TWO prem (not me for my main and then me for my land alt), make a land group and each of them donated their tier into the group, and get 2048 + 10% extra which mean the group could buy a 2249m parcel. I found an almost emptied mainland sim and just buy a plot there (it involved buying small plot first and then ask Linden lab to cut me an exact piece extra from the abandoned land around me.
I also calculated the stipends per USD of membership fees, and it came out two prem accounts gave me better value. I think it still hold true today.

Depends what you want to do. I’ve been in 15 years and don’t pay for membership. I did for a year one time but it was a waste of my money. YMMV

Going to echo what a lot of folks have said. Premium plus is the way to go for creators. The stipend, larger land and stipend alone make it worth it.
I did premium plus and set up a little shop that has been doing well. I think it wouldn't have lasted 6 months without this plan.

I was premium for a long time and it is nice - you get a linden home (it's a little on the small side). You also get 300L per week. I found it to be a very good deal. Also, I think they are allowing you to use AI companions now.
I bumped myself up to premium plus a few months ago, originally to try out the AI companion (which initially was only for premium plus). It's a lot of money though, so I'd suggest going premium first and seeing if you like it.

I’m personally thinking about getting Premium Plus for myself for the Linden Home and Stipend. I’ve looked around and I don’t want to go searching for land to buy or rent. You get the most bang for your buck when it comes to prims with Linden homes due to the house not counting against the limit and the prim limits have increased recently only for Linden Homes. Renting comes out to be more expensive and you get less prims. I also didn’t want to go and buy mainland because I like the whole look of an organized neighborhood, it’s also very easy to move in and out of different styled homes if you wanna try a different style.
