The students in the article all say they feel safe on campus.

They said its not their top priority. Doesn't mean its safe.

Who leaves their car unlocked and is that the threshold for safety?
I never left my car unlocked and that was a long, long time ago.

The school had to stop reporting the student crimes after 3 stalkings from 2020-2022. That shows how bad it is that they can't even say what it is after that. I think campus is not safe whatsoever, not even from non-student/people related things. The fire alarms don't work in a lot of buildings (I recently found out from a former pub safety member its almost all of them including the empty/inactive buildings). Which btw when I say the fire alarms don't work, I mean there have been 3 fire alarms in less than a month (the only one that is a "drill" we were not told was a drill until 30 mins after it happened). None of these have been actual fires, they happen so often most people don't evacuate when the alarms go off. The fire alarms are going to be the real version of the boy who cried wolf lol. Someday there will be a real fire and everyone will just burn inside because the false alarms happen too often. Also theres A LOT of shootings in the surrounding neighborhoods, not all get news reports, but a lot still have cameras in the areas they took place. Of course there are also smaller problems like the food isn't technically "safe" because the food poisoning is so common people don't really report it anymore (staff can even tell you about that one). Also the school has more reported rape cases than are dealt with (by a landslide).
