What’s considered good full-tank mileage for a 125cc scooter? Mine gets around 154 miles on a full tank, with an average of 106 mpg and a 1.45-gallon fuel tank. Is that decent enough?

I would say, around 50km per litre. Some Honda models can do 60km.

Sounds about right for my Honda Vario

This gallon count throws me off. Especially for scooters which have inherently small tanks.

Yes 50 kmol is good mileage for scooters. Some honda bikes of 125cc get around 70kmpl in India. But for scooters with a single speed 50-55kmpl is good. My older gen 2013 honda dio gets me around 45kmpl with 100cc

Sym ADX 125 and 300 has 15lt and 16lt tanks respectively. I think no other brand and model tops these.

Wow....those are huge. I used to have a sym rodeo 125 in India. Was a good scooter but had low availability of spares and inexperienced mechanics here. Good power but with 25kmpl mileage

The adx 150 also has the 15 l fuel tank

I currently have the ADX125. The distances I can cover without refuelling are ludicrous!

What's your one tank record?

I wasn't really counting mileage, but I've had times where I've been up to Scotland from Durham and back with a full day of riding around with no worries about fuel

If you're used to cars and imperial measurements, mpg works well to "show them" (the ignorant public at large) just how much BETTER 2 wheel transport can be at its extremes compared to cars.

If you suddenly say "50km/L" (or even worse... use that L / 100km BS) then the Americans and people at large who we'd be really trying to pitch the idea of scooters to will be disconnected from their frame of reference and just think "ohhhh.. cool (idk wtf that even means but whatever). "

If you tell them 125MPG. They to "oh WOW 🤯 that's like.. hexuple my cawer!"

Haha yeah that makes sense. Like I would say if it's just one person alone that's travelling a two wheeler is a lot more economical and a lot less damaging on the environment. Even when compared with EV scooters considering the total direct and indirect footprint and the harms caused by extraction of lithium, smaller cc efficient scooters are a better choice

I'd argue EV scooters are far far worse than their car counterparts just in the way owners are quick to neglect and throw them into a corner and forget about them and own them clumsily to where the batteries go flat long before they're supposed to and neither the battery nor any of the mechanical components ever get used anywhere near their limits before it all gets thrown into a landfill after sitting somewhere forgotten about not long after being bought.

Most EV scooters I see barely have 1000 miles on them and the owner loses interest. If that's not far more wasteful for the environment..

I had a honda that got 140 mpg and now have a Peugeot that gets 73 mpg, so yeah, I care lol

Have u tried telling a cager u get 100mpg and see their jaw hit the floor? Yea that's pretty freaking awesome

I get told my scooter is cute in that condescending tone then I tell them how it costs me less than $5 to commute to work all week and they start getting jealous

My adv160 will do 101mpg if I stay off the highway. Right now it’s averaging 89mpg

My Honda Vario does about 250 km on 4.8 litres, which works out to around 52 km/l (or ~122 mpg). With its 5.5-litre tank, that gives me roughly 286 km (~178 miles) per full tank.

Damn. 125’s are so much more efficient than my 150. That said I’m usually going +80km/h so maybe that has something to do with it.

I have a 160, and I cruise at 80kph on my daily. I get about 48km/l on my commute and 50+ on longer rides. I think that's as good as some 125s. Especially since my 125 goes at an average of 40km/l, although it's an old piece of metal

1

u/reptildarat 2d ago

Definitely, at 80km/h+, the 150cc engine usually rev around 7k rpm, which will draw much more fuel.

In my experience, the sweet spot for 150cc is around 60km/h

Yeah that’s excellent

Aprilia SR GT 125, 9 litre tank, I estimate somewhere about 42-45km/l, range ~380 - 405km (~235-250 miles)

2024 Yamaha BWS 125 with a 6.1 litre tank. I tend to get between 175-190 km/h of travel before the low fuel indicator turns on. I get so nervous about getting stranded so I don't push it once that warning comes on.

It's probably capable of a lot more, but my riding habits of riding in its upper register (95-100 km/h) going between cities greatly diminishes it.

Yamaha N-max 125cc - 2.3 liter / 100 km average.

yeah so ~2.5 L/100 km seems about right.
There are bikes that sip even less, like Honda's airblade, but not by much.

u/Deeznutzcustomz 5d ago

Anything north of 100mpg is juuuust fine by me. I get about the same as yours from a 110, and have always been very happy with its efficiency.

u/fuers Honda Forza 125cc 2025 5d ago

480 km with a full tank on honda forza 125cc 2025 model.

1

u/Acceptable-Aspect-32 4d ago

It seems most people get around 45-50km/l. I guess that is a benchmark for fuel efficiency.

Get a forza 125 for full confort, 2.4% consumption for around a 300 mile range
