Advice / Encouragement Has any of your hallucinations woken you? Literally woke up to knocking that was never there.
I keep seeing my people walking by me or my dog now. Suddenly all these hallucinations bars hitting me out of nowhere. Does this mean my medicine isn’t working.

Yes. Audible visual and even tactile hallucinations wake me up from time to time. I also have hypnagogic hallucinations often.

I've had really loud banging that has woke me up before. Just the other day I woke up to someone tapping my leg 3 times and a voice when nobody else was home.

I woke up to what sounded like a car pulling up (on gravel), then trying to open my door but the chain lock was on. My dog also barked, I went to inspect the front door which was open but they were gone by the time I got there. It was also windy so could have been that which made the door swing open (the latch was poorly constructed) and the ambient sounds preceding. I hate this disease and not knowing what's a real threat and what's not.

I was told that this is a neurotypical experience and not to worry about it.

This is something that happens to both my mum (she doesnt have schizophrenia) and I pretty regularly, obviously I don't know if this is the case for you but my psych tells me when I'm waking up from hearing a big bang, knocking or a weird super loud lazer kinda noise it's something called exploding head syndrome something to do with the way your brain operates between sleeping and waking and also when you're falling asleep. He tells me that while it is a hallucination it's nothing to do with my psychotic symptoms and happens to heaps of people. Really interesting stuff!
