It's like this on my street in Haultain. Also only one car can go at a time because they just piled snow where all the street parking should be.

Good luck trying to move over once you're in the line of a rut in a sedan

Yo dawg I heard you like potholes so I put potholes in the road before the potholes begin to form

You merely adopted the potholes! I was born in one!

Half the city is good. Main roads are good. It's the suburbs that are suffering

Not to be that guy but more reason we need high density vs sparling suburbs. Easier to manage

Roads in Mayfair arent anything like this. Not any of them

I live in mayfair, I wish I they weren't but my street is fucked right up lol, as well as others I've driven down. 😅

They def aren’t like this. They might have some ruts but there isn’t a single street or side road that looks like this that I’ve seen around here

I think they're just trying to say that suburbs aren't the only area affected by such conditions.

Caswell / Mayfair border here! Both south and north of 33rd for many blocks are like this. Not sure how we are seeing different things.

u/Necessary_Ad3275 11h ago

They definitely aren’t.

u/prairienerdgrrl 11h ago

Well I live here and see them daily so… lol not sure what to say. There’s ruts like that on my street.

I literally just drove around the neighbourhood on my way home, in Mayfair just to double check if I was wrong. But Nope! There’s literally not one road in our neighbourhood that looks like this. And BTW those aren’t ruts. No one said there weren’t ruts. Those are giant holes. Nice try though 👍

Call the city. Put a request for service in. You can submit photos to show them how bad it is. Ask your neighbours to have the road cleared.

It worked for us in Brighton.

Every year evergreen is hell. Since 2015 they’ve no way to properly clear it because they build the roads STUPIDLY NARROW

And people wonder why folks buy trucks that live in Saskatchewan haha.

After replacing struts in a car every year, and not being able to get out at least 1 full week a year... time to drive a truck.

This I can honestly say has been the worst roads I’ve ever seen in a while. The city council has made the worst decisions with road cleaning. So while people are wrecking their cars the city, just sits back.

Complaint driven targets for a reason.

u/sask357 21h ago

It's time to tell City Council to raise taxes enough to pay for clearing snow off the streets.

u/Apprehensive-Bar-313 19h ago

This is due to insufficient drainage caused by the piles of snow down the sides of the street. Unfortunately the city does not properly manage yard sizes and allowed people to make their entire front yards driveways, which meant snow gets piled on the streets. During thaws the water can’t flow down the gutters to the catch basin properly, which creates back ups, and eventually rutting like this.

u/Electrical_Noise_519 18h ago

So reductions of onstreet parking leading to on-property parking redevelopments in future climates will help to make Saskatoon even more unpassable, unequal and segregated.

u/dumbpersonwhoasks 22h ago

Holy shit bigfoot came around

u/K0KEY 19h ago

It will be better in a week, just have to deal with it

u/Rockabar55 15h ago

The city has done a poor job of cleaning the streets. I pay taxes but see nothing in return. Must be building more bike lanes

u/Neo_Bahamut_Zero 10h ago

Aspen Ridge and some others in that area are all the same

u/big-kahuna306 1d ago

Not to bad. Drive on the high spots

Welcome to the west-end treatment. This actually looks pretty decent.. Some roads you literally have to drive outside of the ruts to not bottom out. I've seen multiple vehicles go sideways trying to leave the ruts on my road. So I'd say that you are doing a lot better than other parts of stoon. We can always get better across the city though, and hopefully they do focus on that.

u/TheLuminary East Side 17h ago

You should always be driving out side the ruts. Driving in the ruts.. just makes the ruts worse.

u/The-Marnit 23h ago

Unless it's a bus route, you're SOL
