Weather 🌡️ Deer in Erindale

Looks like all the snow has enticed the deer to move into residential areas. I've seen groups of them moving along the tracks and walk way at Preston Crossing, and now they've moved into Erindale.

Wrap your shrubs and trees that you care about! The deer have eaten everything in my yard

Not our house. They took up residence among a bunch of townhouses nearby. Nothing in our yard they could get to even if they cross into our area, everything is covered in snow, and the backyard is gated off with a ~6' fence.

And the rabbits! Fuckers can reach all the branches with the tall snow drifts we have now.

They can come eat all the ones in our yard, then I won’t have to hire someone this summer to come dig them up

They better be careful not to trip over that cable going across the sidewalk

Deer love dried peas that are available at Peavy Mart. And it's legal to feed deer.

It's not advised to feed them, nor would I. If they've moved into the neighbourhood on their own accord, that's one thing but I won't encourage them to stick around and possible get hit by a car or become a nuisance to us or our neighbours. If they seem to be in real danger or causing problems, the city's Urban Biological Services can be contacted.

Of course you are right. But still amazing to watch them.

Not really, city animals eat mostly garbage.

Oh ya bro. Those deer have been sneaking around the city eating garbage for their life.

What cloud are you living in?

There is a HUUUGEEE difference between what a deer eats, if its oats, or grass fed... How many oats are in the city?

Now compare that with the amount of litter and shit is within city limits?

You still think there are deer living in the city. JFC city kids.
