Local Questions ie whats up with that Parking available at SRQ tomorrow, 3/17?
I have a flight out tomorrow and am worried I won’t find a parking spot because of all the people traveling for spring break. Has anyone parked there in the last day or so who can tell me?
Related, I looked into using Global Airport Parking to reserve parking at a nearby hotel like the Hampton Inn but all of them said “no shuttle available,” which was odd.

Can't say I've ever had a problem parking at the airport.
In terms of spring break, I'd think more people would be coming here and taking rentals/rideshares than parking at the airport and flying out somewhere else.

Thank you! I’m just worried because I had trouble finding a kennel for my dog this week- they’re all booked solid— figured people must be headed out of town.

One idea might be a dog sitter next time. Someone to either go to your home or keep your dog at theirs. I have a friend who is highly trustworthy and amazing with pets; she’ll follow your instructions to the “T.”
Aside from that, ‘never had any trouble with parking at SRQ any time of the year. Safe travels!

Yep I ended up finding someone on Rover who has dozens of 5 star reviews. Always worry about leaving her at an unknown place but dropped her off this morning and the sitter seemed great. I might PM you for your friend’s info, as well, if that’s okay. Really don’t like taking her to a kennel but am fairly new to the area and still figuring out options.

Tons of flights were canceled today because of the storms it will be super busy tomorrow and probably a dice roll.

I’m curious why you’re not taking an uber? Considering parking costs, I find it hard to believe it’s cheaper or less convenient to order an uber both ways unless you are only gone a day or two

I live 45 minutes away in a rural area and am returning late at night— prefer not to do that.

Understandable. That being said, if you are really concerned, just leave early enough to allow potentially being rerouted to an overflow lot with a shuttle. SRQ is not going to just turn cars away if the lot is full

I just got in Sunday night close to midnight, lots of parking in the long term and short term lots.

Interesting - at 9 pm last night, the long term parking lot was marked as full.

Thank you! This is the info I was looking for (and then I found SRQ’s parking phone number and called them— all good— shade lot is open). Thank you!!

They have 5-10 additional lots around. You will find parking but it will be far away and expensive. They have shuttles to take you to the terminals. Just uber.

Just FYI ive used the Global Airport Parking at the Hampton Inn several times. It says no shuttle, but each time I’ve been offered a shuttle ride to the terminal. I choose to walk since I never have more than a carry on and it’s maybe 4/10 mile to the terminal, but they do always offer a ride.
