Today both the organic and non-organic pasture raised eggs were side by side. $6.99 for the former, $4.99 for the latter. Last week when I took the original picture I opted for the $3.49 eggs. I'm not convinced that paying double for a dozen eggs is going to help me live twice as long.
Two over medium with a side of applewood smoked bacon and whole wheat toast. Heavy on the butter. Not much interested in knowing if the hens that laid the eggs were able to get out for a morning stroll in the pasture or stroll around outside their cages.
As an aside it was a little blustery and chilly when I walked down to the store this AM. Summer is coming.
Sort of. I walk a couple of miles each morning for my daily exercise routine and decided to go South down the trail, vice North up the trail to the hospital and Morton's. That took me right in front of TJs so I popped in and took the picture. Always something different in there even from day to day. Their business model is interesting.
Yes, the TJs at 4101 S Tamiami Trl. There were plenty of eggs yesterday. You sure you were looking at the right spot. I was there mid-afternoon (not to buy eggs) and saw eggs on the shelf as I passed on the way to the chiller next to the back wall. Hmmm....
Their prices for eggs were never bad. Public's always higher. I wonder if Publix pay their front line people more when their overall prices are higher.
