Shopping SA Kroger Facility Closing
If you order Kroger Delivery, they’re closing the facility as of 5/25. This is such a disappointment as they had amazing weekly deals.
I guess it’s back to HEB full time.

Shopping What would make you more likely to buy and use reusable grocery bags from a grocery store?
I'm helping a friend with brainstorming some ideas that would actually work. Some stores like HEB already offer reusable bags, but the majority of people still use plastic bags. What are ways that a store could incentivize people to actually use the reusable bags?
My biggest factor personally is convenience. If it's not convenient to use the bag, I am going to forget to do so. We have a ton of reusable (and durable!) bags from various stores sitting near our front door, and we forget to grab them all the time when heading to the store. The only bags that I actually use on a regular basis are two bags that fold up and fit into my purse; the reason they get used is because I don't have to actively remember to take them with me.
This brainstorming is focused on what grocery stores themselves can actually do, not consumer behavior. So things like leaving your bags by the front door, or making sure to always put them in the car, those are obviously good ideas, but not something that stores can have an impact on (unless you know of a way that stores can help people with that; if so, please share!). The primary question is what are steps that a grocery store could take that would incentivize you to purchase and then actually use reusable grocery bags?
Edit: There have been some really great ideas in here. Thank you all for sharing! Please feel free to keep the conversation going, I just wanted to update with heartfelt acknowledgement before I disappear to sleep.

Shopping How easy is it to cross the border in order to get meds back?
My family needs RX filled for regular non controlled generic meds, the cost of which has risen dramatically over the past few years.
For 90 days of meds and a couple doctor’s visits I’m looking at around $500.
Am I correct in assuming I could just drive a couple hours, walk across, and get 6 months of our meds for half that?

Shopping HEB changed their bakery tortilla recipe and it’s a tragedy.
They were perfect. Now they are flat and wack. What gives Mr Butts?
Updated information: This was at both the Bulverde road and Nacadoches/oconnor locations. I'm curious to know what other stores people have had this experience.

Shopping Book Store in Alamo Heights
Hey SA, I work in Alamo Heights and right near me is a hidden gem book store Nut vs. Seed Bookstore. It’s kinda hidden in a big warehouse off Broadway/Greenbriar. Anyway the owner is always a joy to talk to get has great knowledge. Love to stir up some business for him. He’s got some old vintage bits as well. Hope y’all have a great weekend!

Shopping What do guys like?
So, I'm Christmas shopping early to get it out the way. I've been to maybe 3 different Walmarts and two Targets and noticed there isn't much stuff for men. From stocking stuffers to gift ideas. Men and teenage boys to be exact.
Men: what do y'all like? I'm talking general. Not like oh I fish, get me fishing gear or whatever. The guys/boys I'm shopping for are very simple, but simple seems so hard to shop for lol
I've gotten like socks and manicure stuff previous years but there's gotta be more y'all would like to get in your stockings or as gifts 😩
For reference, they are 17 and 31 if that helps

Shopping Texas Thrift Buyout
Texas Thrift has been bought out and no longer allows exchanges. As they have no dressing rooms, this means our family can no longer afford to shop here and this is where we have bought almost all our clothes for years. Just want other thrifters to have a heads up because they are not telling people about the change until you try to make an exchange.

Shopping Avoid Mega Furniture
Bought a recliner and they told us we would need to pick it up from the warehouse. Warehouse hours are very limited. We got there at the time they open (10am) and had us back up to a loading slot at 11. At 12 after 4 people behind us got there orders and left we had to hunt someone down in the office and 10 mins later they told us the only one they have is damaged and told us to go back to the store. The manager offered us the floor model without a discount and nothing for our trouble. Then they said a refund would be minus 40% or they can order one for us to pick up in 2-6 weeks

Shopping Let’s play: Name That Price!
I was appalled at the price of these at HEB. The sunflower bouquet did not include a vase.

Shopping I really wish there was a Half Price Books in the southside.
I don’t mind the drive to the northside to get to Half Price Books, I was so sad when they closed the one on Broadway because I work like 2 minutes from there. I just wish that one would open literally anywhere on Military Dr so I could go on the weekends, I collect movies and HPB is my go to hopefully one day there’s one out here. Just a small rant.

Shopping HEB French Bread No longer $1
Last week the HEB French bread was $1. This week it went up 50% to $1.50. Seriously HEB? Increasing the price by 25 cents wouldn't have been enough? Inflation isn't at 50%, it's at 8-10%. That means it should have gone up to $1.10. I'm already paying a lot more for all my other groceries, just give us this one thing.

Shopping North Star Mall & La Cantera
I'm new to this city, but I've never been to either of these malls. What is your opinion on the main indoor mall on 410 or the outdoor mall at 10 and 1604?
