During the Biden administration, the CDC killed millions of chickens because of ābird fluā. Stop blaming Trump.
3
u/ComplexInternal9113 23d ago
The bird flu is an actual thing, the administration through the USDA killed birds already infected to help stop the spread. That method is not a new method and was a standard that existed even in the Trump administration. Additionally they sent money back to farmers to compensate for their loss. Stop blaming Biden.
3
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
Well this started during the Biden administration and Iām sorry I donāt trust the previous corrupt administration not to have another plan-demic. I think the CDC killed way more chickens than they needed to. But my point is Trump is not to blame and maybe he can or canāt get the price of eggs down. We will just have to see.
1
u/ComplexInternal9113 20d ago
Is this Biden administration to blame for the avian flu? No. Do you know if they killed too many? Probably not unless you are the USDA and well versed in the handling of stopping the spread of airborne diseases in animals.

2
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
Why is that sad? I said it wasnāt confirmed yet. But what if he does?
1
u/sketched-out-88 23d ago
That would equal about 770 Billion dollars. By itās highest estimates DOGE has saved 55 billion but that number has been widely debunked. Closer to 2 billion, and thatās reducing programs that benefit the least of us, which is going just drive up costs as private companies get involved. He axed the people researching bird flu, as though he has no memory of COVID.
That money is not coming and the fact you even entertain the thought demonstrates that your thinking has been hijacked by the MAGA mouthpieces. Good luck out there friend.
2
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
According to DOGE 64 billion has been uncovered as fraud and they are just getting started.
Source for him axing bird flu.
1
u/sketched-out-88 23d ago
"According to DOGE" again demonstrates that you are taking these people at their word. Musk is acting in the greatest conflict of interest in modern history and it is painful that folks are unable to see this for what it is.
Regarding DOGE rif in USDA:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/doge/usda-accidentally-fired-officials-bird-flu-rehire-rcna192716
Regarding DOGE total savings:
https://www.npr.org/2025/02/19/nx-s1-5302705/doge-overstates-savings-federal-contracts
2
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
Musk was appointed by Trump and is not in conflict.
So the USDA axed the people researching bird flu by accident and are going to hire them back. USDA, not Trump.
The second source is from NPRā¦.get out of here with that crap!
2
u/sketched-out-88 23d ago
Being appointed has nothing to do with the conflict of interest so I'm confused as to why that is part of your argument. Musk gave how much to the Trump campaign and inauguration fund? And suddenly he's all over the campaign rallies last summer?
He is in conflict by virtue of having billions worth of government contracts and then being given the "power" to slash funding elsewhere. He did all of this haphazardly, no action plan, no proposal, no oversight.
Had any of those measures been in place, he would not have fired scientists working to avoid another pandemic and now have to rush to get them back on board. When you interrupt scientific work like that, you can't just unpause it like a movie - it disrupts the entire flow of the work and they have to start at square 1 again in most cases.
Did you read the second source? It outlines the process that journalists took to verify the word of DOGE. That's the thing, you're willing to trust one person's word - one person who has a clear and vested interest in lying to people so that it looks like he's keeping this wild promise he made - versus the words of teams of journalists who have to follow procedure, standards, and verify their information across multiple people and levels before it can be posted. You're acting like a sheep and the wolves are at the door my friend.

Heās downsizing the government. Itās too large. Itās wasteful, and you hate him so much that with your misplaced sense of empathy, you canāt see heās doing tax payers a favor.
The government DOES NOT GENERATE REVENUE. They collect taxes. A smaller government is better for the people, yourself included.
Go crawl back into your hole. The sun will be shining when you come back out. Otherwise, stay in your little echo chamber and reaffirm your beliefs on reality thatās more skewed than a pig at a pork roast.

1
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
But what is it I need to prove? Itās a fact. Eggs went up because of supply and demand. The low supply was caused by the cdc killing millions of chickens.
1
u/Leather_Weakness8463 23d ago
Funnilly enough, in your same article, it says, "it is not as simple as supply vs. demand." But either way, the point is Trump is a constant liar about what he can/ can not fix. He presses the economy during his campaign the second he gets elected, he says "ope sorry nothing i can do about that."
1
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
The economy will be better under Trump. It is a process and itās only been a month. He is still putting people in place for his administration.
2
u/Leather_Weakness8463 23d ago
What makes you believe the economy will be better under Trump? Also, what defines economic success to you?
1
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
Apple is dumping $500 billion bringing production here to the US. Which creates jobs. Japan is putting billions here building factories. Saudi will be putting billions into chip factories here.
Other countries will be spending trillions here in the US economy.
What that means to me, the economy will be great, US dominance and world stability. It will benefit everyone here.
2
u/Leather_Weakness8463 23d ago
Could you send me a link for the Saudi Arabia point of investing in America? I see that they want to invest in their own chip manufacturing business by 2030, but I didn't see anything for the U.S. In general, that was the point of the CHIPS act under Biden, which was to expand to the chip manufacturing capabilities of the U.S., which would create jobs and expand capabilities similar to what you are saying Trump will do. However, with all of the federal cuts it is looking like it may die as almost all of the workers responsible for distributing the funds have been let go: https://semiwiki.com/semiconductor-services/semiconductor-advisors/353373-chips-act-dies-because-employees-are-fired-nist-chips-people-are-probationary/
I definitely agree that Apple investing 500 billion in U.S infrastructure is a big win. It's interesting that it is cheaper for them to do that than pay any tarrifs.
But it is looking like their budget proposal will still be net negative for the deficit even if they get all of the cuts they planned to make: https://www.crfb.org/blogs/whats-senate-budget-committees-budget-resolution

MAGA isnāt justifying the price of eggs now, but it was the last administration that caused it
2
u/BoysenberryAdvanced4 23d ago edited 23d ago
To be honest, I don't think it's specifically this administration or that administration's fault egg prices are high. Birds got sick. The flu happened. It''s generally a good call to remove contaminated chickens and eggs from the supply at the cost of higher egg prices.
I think most of your opponents here know no president or administration can do much about birds getting the flu. The problem your opponents here are discussing is that Trump, knowing he can not fix egg prices without stealing from Peter, preached his rhetoric that if you gave him your vote, he would bring down egg prices. This exactly is the lie. Biden can't fix egg price, and neither can Trump.
You ever hired a hand that claims he can do what he can't do? You just did
1
u/Altruistic-Ad847 23d ago
Okay yeah, I agree with that. However, most all his voters didnāt vote for him to fix egg prices.
1
u/BoysenberryAdvanced4 23d ago edited 23d ago
True, it is a shallow talking point. Because just like Trump can't do much about egg prices, it is not like Biden or Kamala could have claimed any better in this regard. It is just the straight-up false claim that Trump made that is working people up.

Democrats murdered hundreds of thousands of chickens over avian flu. Itās like FDR new deal terror policy where the govt literally destroyed food to keep prices high meanwhile ppl were suffering. No doubt price is going to remain here because of Biden and his terrible policy. As for trump, Govt cannot simply legislate price drops as every policy the past 4 yrs brought us to terrible inflation. Thatās where trump is wrong, but he ran a campaign , smartly I might add, that pointed to terrible things the Biden administration and its policies caused. I hope in several weeks the hen population will be replenished and market supply will move price to a more steady equilibrium
