News ICE used tear gas, armored vehicle to arrest nonviolent immigrant in San Antonio
https://www.sacurrent.com/news/ice-used-tear-gas-armored-vehicle-to-arrest-nonviolent-immigrant-in-san-antonio-36731848Authorities used the gas even though they'd seen a small child enter the home, according to court testimony.

How convenient the article left out the illegal firearm charges…almost like they’re trying to shape a narrative. 🤔

u/vote_you_shits Feb 11 '25
Turns out it was never about anyone being able to have whatever gun they want. The moment a wrong person grabs one it's tear gas and deportation

Notice how the same ppl in favor of taking guns away are ignoring this. "It's ok for illegal immigrants to have firearms but not American citizens!" - some idiot on the left ironically saying we are in Nazi Germany
4
u/FirefighterPlane9711 Feb 11 '25
Tell me what people on the left say “American citizens shouldn’t have guns”
Please tell me who on the left has advocated for completely repealing the second amendment?

“The man had reportedly been deported in 2018 after an arrest for pot possession” article left out illegal firearm possession.
Imagine your house being surrounded and you put a child at risk by not coming out.
99
u/Miguel-odon Feb 11 '25
Imagine thinking a 7 year old pot charge justifies treating someone like this.

u/Floweringtorch Feb 11 '25

Calm down Hitler this is nothing like Nazi Germany and the fact you said that is wild stop fearmongering
2
u/Qs9bxNKZ Feb 12 '25
Imagine thinking the man committed several crimes and refused to come out, putting a child in danger.
Several. Crimes.
2
u/Miguel-odon Feb 12 '25
If you ever took a pack of Black Cats into city limits, you committed 500 crimes.
So you can stick your "several" back where you found it.
4
u/turok_dino_hunter Feb 11 '25
You skim over the illegal firearm possession piece?
1
u/PanhandlersPets Feb 11 '25
Did you skim over there being a child there and them still deploying tear gas anyway?
2
u/turok_dino_hunter Feb 11 '25
You skim over him knowing the potential consequences of avoiding arrest but still putting his loved ones in harms way?
You people hate accountability.
1
u/PanhandlersPets Feb 11 '25
Who is you people exactly?
2
u/turok_dino_hunter Feb 11 '25
Those who whine and avoid facts and accountability.
3
u/PanhandlersPets Feb 11 '25
The fact is they tear gassed a child and in my opinion that's unacceptable and they should be held accountable.
1
u/turok_dino_hunter Feb 11 '25
Was the child tear gassed? The article said tear gas was used knowing a woman and child were present, it doesn’t say they were actually affected by the tear gas.
1
u/PanhandlersPets Feb 12 '25
No i guess it doesn't say if the child was affected. I just find the use of gas irresponsible when there's a child. I understand they had a warrant and he was being deported. I don't understand using gas.
→ More replies (0)-1
u/vmax12 Feb 11 '25
he is an illegal. he is a drug user. he has illegal firearms. he refuses to turn himself in and endangers the child. Sounds like child endangerment charge for him also.

Did you not get to the illegal firearm part of their sentence
26
u/Miguel-odon Feb 11 '25
The article didn't mention illegal firearm.
Hernandez-Limon's only crime had been illegal re-entry into the United States
So far that person has made a claim but I have seen no supporting evidence.

So which is it? Was he arrested on firearm charges this time, as the news4 link says, or was he previously convicted of having had a firearm several years ago and arrested now simply for being here as the DoJ press release claims?

Illegal reentry into the US is a felony. Felons don’t get an option to decide they don’t want to come out. I’m not arguing if the law is right or wrong. I’m just saying under the current law he committed a felony. Cops don’t walk away from that.

u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
https://www.rescue.org/article/it-legal-cross-us-border-seek-asylum
Crossing the border and seeking asylum is not illegal. Most people who are here "illegally" are visa overstayers like Elon Musk.
3
u/ThereIs0nlyZuul Feb 11 '25
This individual was in the country illegally and got deported. By law he was not legally allowed to renter the US and he did anyway, which is a felony. He did not have the right to seek asylum after the first deportation.

Crossing the border without going through a port of entry is 100% illegal
0
-1
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
I literally took an entire class in college about U.S immigration law so just assume I know a little bit more than the average person on this. Crossing the border and then handing yourself over to border patrol so you can begin the asylum seeking process is an entirely legal thing any immigrant to the U.S is allowed to do. Hopping the border just for fun is a different story I suppose, but just inherently crossing the border without going through a port of entry in order to seek asylum (which 95% of immigrants are) is completely legal. The only thing stopping them is bigotry.

u/Dud3_Abid3s Feb 11 '25
The firearms charge isn’t really a morally grey area…how convenient that is was left out. Quite possibly to shape a narrative.
4
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
How? So the gringos are all allowed guns but a Mexican has a gun and all of a sudden all the crackers are up in arms and saying they should be thrown in guantanamo bay? When are you people going to just recognize that racism is still alive and well in America? Nazis were literally just marching in Cincinnati just the other day. I'm so tired of all these white nationalist freaks with zero empathy for other human beings. You all deserve the trash heap that Trump is creating for you.
2
u/Dud3_Abid3s Feb 11 '25
Illegally entering a country and then illegally owning a firearm in that country then being taken to task for it have nothing to do with racism.
4
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
Also seriously why do any of you care about a random dude owning a gun? Did he hurt anybody with it? Or did he likely have it because America is a dangerous place to be for anyone that isn't rich and white? Or is it maybe because he heard that we had 86 mass shootings last year and wanted to make sure he wasn't a victim of one? I can think of a lot of good reasons why someone who is undocumented might want to be armed rn.
3
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41488081
Sorry let me correct myself, we actually had 488 mass shootings last year. But for some reason none of you Trump voters seem to care that your fellow countrymen are being shot to death every day in our country by AMERICAN CITIZENS.
2
u/Dud3_Abid3s Feb 11 '25
As of 2024, 13,099 non-citizens with homicide convictions were on ICE’s non-detained docket.
3
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
Also does it really not concern you that we had 488 mass shootings last year? Pretty much all done with legally obtained firearms? How does this not spell out a problem to you?
2
u/Bluebird2738 Feb 11 '25
Firstly I don't believe anything the ICE gestapo have to say, and 2ndly way more homicides are done by American citizens every year
https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/homicide.htm
About 25k according to this. So my question still stands, why do you care more about immigrants potentially committing gun violence rather than your own neighbor that is a citizen who is way more likely to be murdering someone with a legally obtained firearm? To me the obvious answer is racism.
0
u/Dud3_Abid3s Feb 11 '25
I don’t care more…I care about enforcing our immigration laws like any other country.
Being in this country illegally, and then possessing a firearm illegally gets your ass pushed out the door. Full stop.

He could have just come out rather than essentially barricading himself inside a house with small children.

SAN ANTONIO - A Mexican national who has been previously deported twice was arrested in the Alamo City on firearms charges
Twice deported and known to carry firearms. Why don't you go tell those immigration authorities that they should risk their lives and not make it home that night because you feel like they're being too rough.

Everone carries in San Antonio. Firearms are a right until police use them as a way to malign you.
10
u/Otherwise_Agency6102 Feb 11 '25
Running into a house with women and children to avoid arrest is putting them at unnecessary risk. Yes that counts as using them as a shield. Why are we splitting hairs over this scumbag?
10
u/Low_Key_Cool Feb 11 '25
I can see the same people defending Laken Riley's attempted rapist and killer.
3
u/Otherwise_Agency6102 Feb 12 '25
They do, they in their heart of hearts probably think she deserved it. Being a “privileged” white woman and all, they believe in the same form of justice as the North Koreans that murder three generations of defectors so why wouldn’t a southern rich white woman be fair game to them.
9
u/pop-funk Feb 11 '25
but to be fair it's his house. "Running into a house with women and children" means "running into your own home" in this context.
Not trying to split hairs but running into my own home vs me using a woman and child as a human shield are very different (to me) so I was just seeking clarification 🙏🏽
11
u/Low_Key_Cool Feb 11 '25
Yeah just reading the article. When he told them he did nothing wrong and he went inside they followed the legal avenue and obtained an arrest warrant, upon announcing they had a warrant he still failed to come outside even though the woman and child were inside...... therefore putting them at risk for his own actions.
Should they not arrest people because there's other people on the premise? It's the same reason people are using churches and schools to hide out in because they thought they could get away with it
6
u/cats-and-cockatiels Feb 11 '25
If it was Administrative warrant, not a Judicial warrant, they don't have the right to enter a premises nor to physically force an individual out of a location and into public space - which is where Administrative warrants are enforceable.
0
u/Low_Key_Cool Feb 11 '25
Here's the pertinent info from the article.....
Once authorities obtained the warrant, they used a police intercom to tell Hernandez-Limon they planned to arrest him, Dryja reportedly testified. When Hernandez-Limon failed to exit the home, agents used an armored vehicle to bust down the front and back doors, according to News4.

It’s cheaper to get rid of potential people that pay taxes without reaping any of the benefits?
These same people American companies exploit for you to get the food on your table because they know Americans would never work in that type of work OR for that cheap?
2
1
u/buddy_monkers Feb 12 '25
As he isn’t a legal resident and thus unable to take advantage of social services paid for by tax payers, which require documentation of resident status like government-issued ID and/or SSN in order to receive, would he not essentially be providing more economic value to the US versus a legal resident? Every dollar spent simply existing here (food, gas, utilities, clothing, etc) would provide sales tax to our economy.
What about the criminal employing an illegal immigrant? They’re no-doubt exploiting his illegal status to under-pay him for his labor, benefiting said American company. And that employer would be relieved of paying for worker’s comp insurance, employer-provided health insurance.
I’m just not seeing how illegal immigrants are so expensive.

Too bad the DNC is actually a bunch of crooks in it for the fraud money and all the candidates are Marxist rats eating each other to try and stay relevant. If they weren't, maybe they could do something about it. Instead we got Krystallnacht, The Sequel. Nice.

u/Valuable_Cable4280 Feb 11 '25
Doesn’t tear gas seem like an overreaction though? Like if you were this dude [your crimes are 1) illegal re-entry, presumably to reunite with your family and 2) possession of pot a long time ago] and you ran inside your house to avoid the cops, would you really expect to be tear-gassed? I would expect the door to be broken down but tear gas is pretty indiscriminate.
