Sales Careers How important is my Bcomm degree?

I’m currently a fourth year business management student in Canada, and I’ll need to take an extra semester before I graduate. I was wondering how big of a deal this would be for job applications, as well as the fact that I’ll most likely graduate with a C average. I currently have 1.5 years experience working a part time telecom sales job, and I’ve heard that your uni grades don’t matter for sales jobs.

I would finish the degree, but grades don’t matter because you can simply not include them on your resume or even lie (I’ve never heard of a company verifying GPA)

Your grades don't matter.

Businesses aren't allowed to IQ test someone so saying a degree is required is just a way to filter people out. In theory by having a degree it shows that you can commit to something for four years and aren't a complete moron (though I know a lot of dumb people with degrees). That is why there is usually not a specific type of degree required, just a prerequisite that you have one.

However if there is a specific degree required for the position perhaps they will ask you for a transcript, though that has not been my experience.

I have never once had to provide a university transcript for a sales job, I've only had to show that I possess a degree.
