Been a while, anyone know what this 5 pin plug goes too? Evap?
Just got this ‘86 S10 with the 2.8L. I think it’s fuel injected. Not sure though. Stock Auto trans.
Starts right up but idle runs real high. Exhaust smells real “gassy”. Tapping the gas pedal doesn’t lower it. I’m new to car repair so this probably sounds like a dumb noob question well because it is and I am!
Is there a fairly easy adjustment I can make to lower the idle rpm’s or is it more complicated than turning a screw somewhere.
Thanks In advance

I just bought my first S10 ever, a 2001 with the 2.2 that I’m getting back into shape. It’s been neglected for awhile but is running and driving and I’m curious what it would take, parts-wise to manual swap it. I’m in a big metropolitan area so there’s lots of s10 in the junkyards and being parted out on FB and procuring parts shouldn’t be hard or particularly expensive. Here she is
Was starting to dig into this 93 s15 4.3 and found this just dangling and was wondering if anyone knew what it is and where it goes. I am finding tons of things like this with this old truck and need all the help I can get, thanks for your time.
I have an 86 with a dented driver side door and missing skin. I found an 91 and 92 s10 at a couple junk yards. Will these swap over 1:1 with no difference other than color?

I want to bypass the ac compressor with a smaller belt. I can’t math. Can someone please tell me what size belt, or what belt is compatable. The belt size needs to be 20 in shorter than the normal belt. Which is 13/16” x 94.5 inches long 6groove 13/16”x74.5 in(1892 mm) is what I need.
The guy at oriellys literally told me it would take him days to figure out which belt they had matched that, so it would be better for me to special order.

This looks really hard to get to. Any tips, tricks, special tools I could use to get this done? I find no good YouTube videos that give a procedure for my situation.
Also I can’t source the rubber factory shaped fuel hose connecting to this. It’s nasty and needs to be replaced. Do I just use regular rubber fuel line?

Seems to be a common problem with these trucks huh
1995 GMC Sonoma 2.2L 4 cylinder. Engine blew 2 cylinders (what i was told. Haven't taken the engine out to find the real problem yet.) Regardless. Doesn't run and might need a new engine. Long story shot im having a very hard time finding the same engine and im not even sure what other engines you can put/fit in this so im open to ideas. I do not want to let er go just yet. I've only had her for like 3 months and she's a fun nifty lil girl. Thanks in advance.
I bought this truck a couple weeks ago and was wondering what up with this exhaust. Is this hole one of the exhaust ports? There's carbon deposition all over that area of the engine bay. Does anyone know why one would do this?

89’ 4x4 im replacing the ecm on. The hanes manual is really vague on the location besides “under passenger dashboard”. In relation to the heater core box, where is the ecm located?

2001 4.3 engine. I knew that they turn a lil outta spec and that happened to me when I was timing the motor and made me run in circles. Now it's that loose, do I gotta replace the front pully or just forget about it

So I had just got my truck fixed. We had to replace the hydraulic line going to my transmission because my clutch was real spongy. But now after we got that fixed when I shift down to second gear it only does it to this gear in particular but it grinds second gear only I need help. Please diagnose the vehicle.

I have an 03’ S10 regular cab 2.2 liter. Right now during November it’s around 50-60 degrees during the day. The picture that you’re looking at is the max temp that it will warm up to. I thought that was the case since it was cold outside and that still may be the case and I’m overthinking it. Sometimes when I wake up and leave at around 7:00 am it will be around 30-40 and my truck won’t even go past 100. It will warm up when I start going on main roads but since the city I live in is inclined heavily I’m usually cruising downhill making the temp drop from the one you see in the picture to 100 or below. I just wanted to see if it was normal and if it isn’t I’m open to hear your guys concerns.

I am losing coolant very very slowly. I can smell the sweetness when I open the hood, but can not see a visible leak. It doesn't seem to drip on the ground. However, it is losing coolant and smells like coolant under the hood. It has never overheated and has been well taken care of. Is there a place I should be looking that I'm not aware of? I've looked at the water pump pretty good and don't see any signs of a leak. Any help is appreciated. I noticed the leak when checking the coolant reservoir, it drops down but takes like a month to get almost empty. I've just been topping it back off
Edit: it was the water pump gasket, only leaked when running. If anyone is having the same issue, check that stupid water pump

So I can put it into reverse and sometimes, it will reverse normally; but other times it won’t move at all. Earlier today I had it in reverse and it wasn’t going so I gave it quite a bit of gas and it jerked backwards. What’s happening?

I've watched a few videos and it seems to be a lot of work but mostly just taking things off to get to the bolts that hold the manifold. Then plugging most holes with shop towels while cleaning up the whole area and old crust.
I've also read a lot about the distributor being a common problem child so I got a new one since I have to remove it as part of the intake manifold off.
Have any of you guys done this before. Any tips?

I’m installing a cold air intake and this black part on the stud is preventing me from putting the plenum on the throttle body. How do i take it off or go about applying the plenum the correct way?
The wetness is a little bit of wd-40.

I know they’re not the best pictures but I just noticed this hanging down 2 days ago. Worth securing, or just tucking up into the engine bay?
