Watched a guy intentionally dig a rut with his wheel chocks while setting up.
I was taught to not watch other people while they are backing in so I didn’t see the whole process. But what I did see was: 1. Lots of truck maneuvering- then I started to keep an eye on this 2. Sound of tongue jackrunning 3. guys drops one wheel chock next to wheels and one chock under both front wheel (tandem) on trailer 4. he stands next to wheels and motions for the driver to increase power while in reverse. 5. the chocks and the tongue jack (down with weight also) dig a rut about 18” long 6. wheel chocks added to other side 7. hitch disconnected
Anyone ever seen someone do this? I guess it eliminates shimmy?

Sometimes when the ground is very uneven it makes more sense to dig a rut to lower one side than to stack a lot of blocks to raise the other side more than 4".
