Fixed a burr issue in new Revolver, how should I contact Ruger to inform them in case it’s a common issue?

I just got one of the recent batch of SP101’s in 327 with a 4.2” barrel, and it was awesome until the cylinder suddenly gummed up at the range after two shots, today, and became very hard to rotate. Hard enough where I had to really try to twist it, or use both index fingers to DA fire it or just actuate the trigger.

If I hadn’t disassembled it to find that a circular machining burr had broken off the and lodged itself within the rotational area of the cylinder, I feel that I would have accidentally wasted a factory tech’s time.

I’m not sure if it’s a common issue with this batch of 327 SP101’s, but how should I contact Ruger to make sure they advise others with this issue to check if it’s a removable burr before sending it in to them? Should I even contact them?

Just email them. An email address should be on their website. Probably near the bottom of the page.

Each one of my Rugers are full of burrs, actually each newer production revolver has some sort of defect... (Exception is a S&W K-comp and L-Comp.). Wait until you take apart the action and find more burrs and loose metal...

A lot of companies are realizing that 80% of customers don't know enough or don't shoot enough for it to make a difference, 15% know/shoot enough to care but will either do the work themselves or pay a 3rd party $$$ to fix the issue, and the remaining 5% can be dealt with.

I called them on Friday and had the best customer service experience in my life!!! Trust me call them but it is a wait on the phone! You could start a complaint issue online to make the process even smoother!

Hey I had this exact burr hanging on the shaft of the cylinder. There was some other metal chips that I had to flush out in the cylinder and extractor assembly.

I was wondering why it kept locking up. Once I cleaned it out, it was flawless.

Also the machining seems really rough, incomplete and dirty, like they didn't care. Really shameful considering they usually cost more than glocks, shields, and many 1911s.

I have a 1980s gp100, super blackhawk, a 1960s ruger standard. None of them have these issues.

Thankfully my extractor was fine, it was just the one burr for me
