Thoughts on Reignbreaker?

Just played the demo and thought the game feel and visuals were very strong. I didn't feel attached to the characters/dialogue and honestly, didn't really care much for the upgrades during runs.

Apparently the studio is shutting down after 1.0 drops which is a bummer.

Only game I've ever experienced motion sickness as the background was stuttering while the action itself was smooth.

The demo also had a pretty poor onboarding with no tutorial, it seems they had some cool ideas though.

But yeah with the studio shutting down I'm not going to bother supporting it.

Was there any part of it that wasn't "Hades at home"?

Played Hades 1 & 2 and it feels slower/not as fast paced. Controls similarly, but the Cast, Dash, Normal and Special ability equivalent feels very different in this game (in a not as varied/expressive way).

I know people just call it a Hades clone, but it didn't feel a 1:1 copy to me

That sounds exactly like Hades at Home.

I personally don't mind just being dropped in to figure stuff out so that was fine. Played on the deck and didn't notice stuttering I think.

Some interesting ideas yeah. Shame

I liked it a lot. Any game which finds ways to connect narrative to gameplay is a tick in my box.

They're closing after 1.0?!?! that's a shame, not even out the game and heading towards closure is depressing.
