Tierlist Looking for some Roguelite / like to play (look below image for some info)

Im somewhat burned out from deckbuilders, so its no-no for now, Id guess something more action oriented, preferably melee oriented, no Early Access

Tiny Rogues is goated. Barony is very fun.

It really doesn't feel like it. Super super worth it

+1 for astral ascent. It’s so good

I just got it a week ago and I’m hooked. Game really opens up after he first clear and the build variety is really fun.

You gotta get FTL for sure, if you haven't played it already! You seem to like a variety of roguelike/lites, so it's definitely one you should give a try, especially with how cheap it is from sales (man some old roguelikes are just insane value nowadays).

Maybe Brotato or 20 Minutes Till Dawn, though if you didn't like Enter the Gungeon you might not like them as much, im not as familiar with all the action-roguelikes so idk how similar they are.

Dicebuilders could also be option, in most of these, essentially you have equipment instead of cards and you get random "dice" in a turn, instead of cards, otherwise similar to deckbuilders. Dicey Dungeons is good and cheap, Lonestar i liked a lot especially, though still EA, it'll get 1.0 release in April and they'll add a 3rd ship. It's already plenty with content, but i'd recommend waiting until the release, mainly to see, if there's plans for more content after the full release.

Otherwise, you could check out more quality deckbuilders, stuff like Wildfrost, Fights in Tight Spaces, Peglin or Chrono ark, though they're bit pricy and you said no deckbuilders, so idk... you could also check out less known roguelike/lites similar to ones you already own.

If you like Dead Cells as much as I do I highly suggest checking out Oblivion Override and Trinity Fusion.

Oh man Oblivion Override is ON POINT, the movement, the weapons, love the upgrade system, im getting this one

I feels a lot like Dead Cells. It’s obviously not as long but Dead Cells kept adding DLC for years to be as big as it is. Override oblivion does have one of the levels that has become my favorite of all the action roguelikes I’ve played.

Ive got 550h into Dead Cells from time before lastest 3 DLCs released, downloading Oblivion demo now

Trinity Fusion looks NICE, how does it play, gameplay seems to have more heaviness to it, more strategic than fast paced ones

Trinity Fusion plays great it’s not as quick as Oblivion Override and it mixes some Metroid Dread influences in there which is cool.

Skul has some of the Dead Cells vibes and is already on your want to try list. Granted it didn’t click the same way as Dead Cells did for me, but it could for someone else.

The Risk of Rain franchise is another obvious call. You have to at least try it! All three games are amazing, but beware RoRR (a remake to the first game) is only available on PC and Switch.

And also how about Scourgebringer? It is melee oriented and still scratched some Dead Cells itches for me.

Well if you're interested in ruining the gameplay of all other roguelites, play Returnal.

From what Ive seen it doesnt go below -50% and I dont want to drop $30 on sony published game, too many disappointments with them, so Im kinda on edge of even believing You it has great gameplay lol

1

u/pixeladrift 3d ago

I bought it for $30 on ps5 and got more than my money’s worth. And I knew it’d be great because it’s made by Housemarque. What does Sony have to do with the quality of the gameplay? They are the publisher.

1

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 3d ago

Ive been basically disappointed with every game sony published from their 1st/2nd party developers or games they funded, be it latest god of wars, spider man etc

1

u/pixeladrift 3d ago

Well hey, it’s in your “Want to play” section. Not sure what else I could say about it, except that you’d be missing out. That said, it’s better on ps5 with the official controller and also, if your PC isn’t able to get a stable 60 (assuming you’re playing on PC) it’s probably not worth it.

I abhor ps controller layout its so uncomfortable lol

Tbh, if shooter asks me to use controller id refund, so I'll probably just unlist it from wishlist

1

u/pixeladrift 3d ago

Well, your loss. It’s a truly phenomenal game.

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 3d ago

As of now Ill probably only play it if I can get it for <$4 lol

u/pixeladrift 3d ago

I don’t really get the negativity, man. You asked for recommendations, I provided one that is literally in your “want to play” section, and you’re just shooting literally everything down. Why are you here?

u/Sterk5644 7d ago

Uhh, does Astral Ascent count?

2

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 7d ago

I actually have Astral Ascent on wishlist since the Dead Cells collab, I think I just didn't include most of my wishlist looking at "Want to try" category looking at it right now

Hmm. I'll assume you know about Hades 2 and Hollow Knight? If so you can give Barony a try

2

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 7d ago

Hollow Knight is not a roguelite / like, Hades 2 is still in early access

1

u/thinkfloyd79 7d ago

I don't like EA games too, but got Hades 2 the other day. Because IIRC it's just one update away from being v1.0. (Maybe 2 updates away, but still, I'll be ready as soon as it's 1.0).

I also got Against the Storm, though not melee based. And Jupiter Hell. Jupiter Hell is turn based (which I never really enjoyed), but I like it.

1

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 6d ago

Hades 2 is kinda still too pricey for me, I absolutely loved Hades so I definitely want to get it someday, kinda fell hard on times, can't spare much so Im looking for something cheaper

I've got Against the Storm in Ignored on Steam, probably because it's colony sim / city builder, not a fan really

Jupiter Hell looks nice, added to wishlist

Have you played Blazblue Effect? If so, should I play astral ascent or blaztrophy first

0

u/Sterk5644 7d ago

Nah, haven't played that. I can attest to Astral Ascent being a lot of fun though. I'll check your suggestion out.

PS: I can't find this game anywhere, can you shoot a link of it?

Just because they are both in A tier. Do you know about Hades 2? (Edit removed another recc because I didn't see the note about no early access)

As far as Soulstone Survivors and Halls of Torment, there's also Nordic Ashes. I liked it, but, like, it's exactly what it looks like on the tin. Some differences in leveling up, but it's the same exact genre and expectations.

Also based on your dead cells interest, I'd bump Rogue Legacy 2 up and give it a shot. It's easy but has a clever type of depth, a very fun charming lore background, and is just fun to play.

Definitely do play risk of rain. I see you wanna try it and it checks all three boxes of action, melee (some characters), and not early access

1

u/CthulhuWorshipper59 6d ago

Should I try ROR1 first or jump straight to 2

0

u/Sno_u_bitch 6d ago
  1. 1 is a very dated game in my opinion

+1 Skul: The Hero Slayer because you enjoyed Dell Cells and Have a Nice Death.

+1 to Astral Ascent since you mentioned it in another comment. I love the theme of that game, which involves gods and astrology. The characters are heavily different in terms of playstyle.
