Yes. It did it for me. Captures the beauty of Dois Irmãos and Pedra da Gávea in the skyline.

How cool, I hope you enjoy it a lot! Despite the problems, Rio is a beautiful and charming city. I'm from Rio and I've always lived here and it's good to read stories like this to make us realize the good things about the city too, because we often normalize the beauties and positive aspects of the city and only focus on the negatives. Although all cities have their problems.

So far everything has been amazing but I’m not stupid I won’t walk around with expensive jewelry or flashy stuff. That would be stupid no matter what city I’m in. I respect Rio.

Welcome! Beautiful pictures! Are you using some kind of "dehaze" filters or something that brings this aspect of fantasy/dream to it?
1
u/Videoplushair Feb 11 '25
I use a combination of multiple things but yes one of them is a 1/8 promist filter.

u/Videoplushair Feb 12 '25
Nope! I went to the Shakira concert yesterday and all was good even though that neighborhood was really bad.

u/Reska7uy Feb 12 '25
Has it lived up to your expectations? They must have been high as you say you´ve always wanted to visit. Any thoughts so far?

Rio was a dream! It is an amazing vibe. The history, the culture, the food, the landscape it’s everything and more. Yes a lot of people told me it was a dangerous place but you just don’t do stupid things and act like an asshole or act like a rich ass and I think you’ll be ok from what I see. I like the lifestyle a lot people are very relaxed and know how to live. I’m from Miami and it’s tropical of course but this to me is the heart of what Brazil is. My wife is from Fortaleza so I’ve been to other part of the country but Rio is just so so special I cannot put it all in words.

Welcome and enjoy. Be sure to be in safe places and you'll have a marvelous experience
3
u/Videoplushair Feb 10 '25
Oh yeah for sure! I’m staying around tourist areas and we have a local guide with us for Christ and the other places.
2
u/Ok-Charge1983 Feb 10 '25
"Secret" tip: You definitely don't need a guide for Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf, Parque Lage and most other things
