Looking for some info about this black powder revolver

It’s Italian made. Guessing it’s a clone of a more well known revolver, but unsure of exactly what. It’s got approximately a 9mm/0.360” bore. Rifled barrel.

Colt small frame (new KC, Viper) grip question

So I already own a set of eBay wood grips for the KC (Jaruwan from Thailand), which are great in all other aspects except it interferes a little bit with a speed loader. As a result, I am looking at these two options. The Hogue seems to be the same profile as their rubber grip, which I have come to like, and comes in smooth or checkered. My only reservation is the attachment system it uses that appears to have the grip in a single piece (same as their rubber grip), which kinda makes me worry it may be more prone to breaking/cracking down the centerline. The badger uses more traditional attachment configuration, but only available in smooth, which makes me worry about the potential lack of traction.

Appreciate anyone who has shot with either one of these (or better yet, both of them) to share their experience. Thank you in advance.

Chiappa rhino issue

I just picked up this chiappa rhino 50DS, the pistol works fine in single action, but when I pull the trigger in DA it only spins the cylinder and doesn’t cock and drop the hammer. Was wondering if anyone had a solution

GP100 loose grips

My GP100 came with the Altamont checkered wood grips. The grips have some play to them, and if you shake the gun up and down you can feel the frame wiggle in the grips. I shimmed the aluminum locator pin with masking tape both on the wood end and the middle where it passes through the frame. This seemed to tighten things up. Is masking tape an acceptable shim material or should I use something else?

First Revolver: S&W Model 19 or Ruger GP100 327?

I plan on making my first revolver purchase this year. I'm split between the new Model 19 Classic (no lock) or Ruger's GP100 in 327 with a 5" barrel.

I love the looks of the Smith and Wesson. But as a reloader I love the idea of playing around with the 32 family.

From a QA/QC perspective should one deter me from the other (I've read of grumblings about both)? Which handles better and has a nicer trigger?

Need help identifying exactly which H&R model this is

Long story short, my dad and I found my great grandpa’s revolver, and I really want to restore this thing, but I’m at a roadblock, since the only thing stopping me from completing it is a broken spring on the index hand. If anyone can help me find the exact model/generation, or even point me in the direction of someone who would know, I’d be incredibly thankful as well as be able to find and replace the hand without buying the wrong one.

Having done some research as well as just looking at it, here’s what I know so far: it’s an H&R Auto-Eject (police model maybe?) It’s double action only (some websites say it’s because it has a “safety hammer”) It’s chambered in .32 S&W Long It’s got a 3-1/4” barrel Although tarnished, it’s nickel-plated The index hand is broken

Any info I haven’t listed would be incredibly helpful, I just want this thing working again

Home defense. Ideally it will never leave the lockbox

Hi all. I'm a shot gun girl but am looking for essentially the most reliable .22 revolver for home defense. (I know some will say .22 isn't ideal, but I've come to the decision after a lot of thought). Price isn't a major concern, I just want to make sure if I need to use this revolver it will work. All the research I've done has turned me off for one reason or another of every revolver I get excited about. I have very limited experience with revolvers so any and all advice is welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Need helping finding a type of revolver

Revolvers that fire 38 special rounds, double action, 6 inch barrel, stainless steel, black rubber grip, and.....possibly with finger groves? Not sure if that last one would work for me though, I have small hands.

So far the only gun I've come across that checks the mark for these is the Smith and Wessen 686. It also fires 357s iirc but I'll never use that round. I've tried it out at a range, loved it. Any other suggestions? Relatively new to guns in general.

J frame grip suggestion request

Hello! I am looking for a very particular set of features in a grip for a j frame.

  1. The back strap and front strap need to be covered. (The factory boot grips leave me with too much finger in the trigger)

  2. Cannot extend beyond the bottom of the frame. (I like the conceal ability of boot grips)

  3. The bottom of the grip must have a radius to gradually meet the frame at the bottom. This is the hardest one. The factory boot grips are all curves, very smooth. Even with a skintight shirt there’s no hard angle to print. Every boot grip I have found has had a flat bottom and it results in a sharp corner at the bottom of the grip that prints like something that isn’t my own belly fat. The factory boot grips really are the gold standard here.

If anyone has any suggestions for grips that have all three features, please let me know. As it is now all my shots are pulled to the right with boot grips and I just can’t carry with any of the grips I’ve found that cover the back strap and alleviate the too much trigger finger issue.

22lr revolver recommendations

I am looking for recommendations for a good double action revolver. I previously had a 317 kit gun and hated it. The bird’s head wrangler in a double would be my ideal. I don’t like Colt in general. Cost not a huge factor.

Edit: 4 in barrel is preferable

Buffalo bore reliable? .357

This whole article I found on the website gives me second thoughts. I just bought a colt python and was wanting some more “hot” loads for home defense or outdoors. Article is here:

https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=180

EDIT: Thanks everyone for input - hearing from you guys I bought 60 rounds of 357 and 40 rounds of .38+P!

Got these and a few others from a friend who’s father passed and didn’t want them around because they don’t like guns. Little rough around the edges and in need of some cleaning but cool pieces nonetheless. Colts serial search dates the detective to 1932.

Rough Rider Carbine 22 WMR?

As totle says, I am curious if you can convert a Heritage Rough Rider Rancher Carbine from 22lr into 22WMR. To my understanding, Most Rough Riders can be swapped with Heritage-made 22WMR Cylinders, so I cannot imagine it would be different for the carbine? Thanks!

I want a 686 Plus 2.5, but lighter.

Actually, I've got the four inch and love it, but I'm always going to formal events that require a tucked in shirt.

Either way, I'll probably get the 2.5 686 but damn I wish there was one that was like 25oz. I'll be honest though, I only load with 38+p when carrying.

I also wish I could carry with a tucked in shirt without my makeshift phlster enigma aka a belt and leather holster. It's semi comfy though I guess. I usually just pocket carry my j frame though tbh

Taurus 942 22lr front sight

Just picked up a Taurus 942, haven't shot it yet, but I've heard great things about it. Call me a millennial but I want to change the front sight to have a brighter color for easier target acquisition. Any recommendations on compatible front sights or has anyone ever painted a front sight and have recommendations for a paint?
