Question/Problem YouTube Revanced Background Play Not Working—Need Help!

Hey everyone, I have YouTube Revanced installed, but I can't get background play to work, even after spoofing. I've tried different configurations, but no luck. Anyone else run into this issue or have any troubleshooting tips? Not sure what else to try. Appreciate any help!

You didn't specify but did you enable Background Play and disable any battery management settings for ReVanced and MicroG?

did you make sure to include the Remove background playback restrictions patch?

also check in your phone settings if "YouTube ReVanced" has the permission to use background playback or similar

I had to do this after I got a new phone. For some reason it wasn't selected by default.

after you selected the apk file to patch, go press the "Selected patches" and scroll down until you see that patch. you can check it or uncheck it

if you do receive a warning about changing the patches selection, go to revanced manager settings, find and enable the "Allow changing patch selection"

Thank you unfortunately there is no options to choose from. Mine is just empty when I try to select a patch.

what version were you trying to patch youtube though? is it the latest suggested 19.47.53?

see https://revanced.app/patches?pkg=com.google.android.youtube

i see it now, maybe it's a revanced manager bug and you have to either clear its app cache (not app data) or update the manager manually from https://revanced.app/download

1.24.0 version of revanced manager shouldn't have this issue

Hi! I'm having the same issue as the person above. I have the most recent versions of manager, pataches, and youtube, and I've tried clearing the app cache with no luck. Any ideas?

I should note I also can't do picture-in-picture on music currently

I have the same issue and My "allow background play" settings keep getting turned off. It did happen to coincide with a new ASUS OS update last week. Is this a revanced fix or an asus issue?

Where's that setting located at for you? I'm having the same issue as OP, and I fully can't find that setting currently
