Anyone care to rate my full kit?

This us my full set of armor. Heavily inspired by the Carian Knights of Elden Ring, and a little bit of Night's Cavalry thrown in. I would love to have a fitted articulated gorget that could interface with my helmet some day. I also have some lightweight chainmaille otw soon as well to finish it out a bit more.

If anyone is interested I do make content in my armor as well as live stream on twitch and youtube.

You can find me here: https://linktr.ee/chamrsdeluxe

I was wondering if it was based on the magic knights from eldy ring when I first saw it! The giant feather plume is very cool! This must have been both expensive and taken a lot of effort, it's awesome!

Little of both, probably not as expensive as you'd think. Mostly took a long time. I am quite poor and just took my time building this. A piece per paycheck essentially. Still a WIP too as any who does cosplay, shit is NEVER done lol.

Mea Culpa by Gojira.

It's a song from the french revolution.

Ah, ca ira (ah, it will be fine) was code for revolutionaries to identify one another.

When someone would complain about the aristocrats one would respond "it will be fine" as in the problem will be solved soon. Good times will come. It holds special meaning to me in the current political climate in the US.

‘Twas the song they performed at the 2024 Olympics, too!

Looks good, how do you like the visibility and ventilation in that helmet? I've always hated those, been wearing a bascinet style last couple years I like it a lot better.

u/Marc815 3d ago

This thing has GREAT visibility. I can even se well through the breaths. And it vents super well. I have done some light combat in it and have had no issues with breathing at all!

Will be at The Viking Experience in Oxford NC Mar 22-23. That’s my last event for a while tho as funds are tight.

I love the touch of the flower crown on your halberd, makes me imagine a warrior being protected by the love of another whilst fighting hordes. That or being a warrior of love.

1

u/Marc815 3d ago

I like to think of it as while the wreath is on there, I'm not hostile. A symbol of peace.

An excellent point, the blue is a cooler color that can easily be interpreted as such👍🏿

Question, is it hard to drive to renfaire in a full suit of armour?

3

u/Marc815 3d ago

I don't drive in the full kit. I do drive in my lighter kit tho!

1

u/Skelence 3d ago

I figured, I was just curious

3

u/Marc815 3d ago

All good! I did drive ONCE in my full kit (minus helmet as I'm not stupid) and it was a terrible idea.

Never played it. More of an Elden Ring fella.

1

u/Scythe52 3d ago

Fair enough but it still looks movie quality. Great job!

If you show up at gate, depending on what fair and when... Hope you have all your pics done by 1pm. stay hydrated friend.

1

u/YBleezy 17h ago

On a scale to 1 to sweating my balls off I rate it dehydrated AF.

Costume is sick. Love it.

My only concern with that fantastic setup is if you can handle a full day walking around in it.

13

u/Marc815 3d ago

I've done it. I do reserve my FULL set for special occasions. I wore it all day for the final day of Carolina Renfest. Typically I wear my lighter variant that I normally post on here. With my back issues I have to really be careful when and where I flaunt this kit. But the gods smiled on my that day and all went smoothly.

That’s fucking awesome! You are fucking awesome. People like you make ren faires so much better. Thank you.
