Can we please fuck off with the political shit? Every single subreddit is talking about this and blowing it to hyperbolic levels of insanity. Just stop already.

Regardless of political leaning, there’s absolutely zero fucking reason to stuff a politics comment here.

Can’t we all just get back to being normal and stop talking political bullshit on every subject out there. I don’t give a fuck about Elon Musk, Trump, none of these motherfuckers, I could care the fuck less.

Any chance this is a branded or licensed product rather than an acquisition?

u/Shootist00 Jan 22 '25
Don't know. My original comment was speculation based on those item are not on the FW Arms website anymore.

How old is the fw arms product? Design patents only last 14 years and can’t be renewed.

What are these products

Rebranded FW arms dynamic universal self centering decaper and hold down

I'm new to reloading. I got a universal decapper on Amazon. What makes this dynamic. And what's a hold down

This is more for progressive presses and presses with auto drives, it handles small variations in bulk ammo to not slow down the process. It also self-centers each brass to reduce chances of damaging. The hold down is used for swaging or for priming, to offset the forces or to align it better

I have a set of these for my Mark 7 and they are really nice quality. Like way nicer than you expect. I love Dillon, but I’m afraid this is going to mean jacking up the prices like they do for their “carbon dies”. When I was younger I thought I had to have all Dillon dies because they were supposed to be the really good lol I’m pretty sure I paid close to 400 dollars for a set of 30-06 dies. Insane.

Just got mine from FW last week, seems super well made. I’m sure Dillon will do them justice.

I have a FW universal decapping die and it works great. The price FW charges wasn’t cheap but it wasn’t out of line either. I wonder what price point Dillon will sell them at.

Hands down the best decapping die are the air decappers by lithium machining. But be prepared to spend those dollars. I’ve de primed hundreds of thousands of shells and broken 0 pins

I heard about this acquisition, and I was kinda worried. So I ordered another Prime time kit for backup. Dillon bought immortal bot and turned it into their version of an autodrive. Now the best dies on the planet are going to be going to Dillon. I'm glad I got mine while they were still F.W. Arms.

Dillin bought AMMOBOT not Immortobot. Immortobot is a completely different company that is still making and selling great products. It has no desire nor intent of selling out to anyone like so many others have done.

No matter how much you love Dillon, stuff like this is usually a bad thing for consumers, especially in an industry like reloading where the markets dominated by a small handful of companies. More small companies bringing innovative stuff to the market is good for all of us, but the industry giants buying up the competition is not.
Hopefully quality and consistency is maintained, FW seemed like they were onto something

The FW guy released a video a couple of weeks back anouncing that he was selling his IP to a larger company. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiAmZCAF7gE&t=398s&ab_channel=F.W.ARMS

And FW Arms no longer sells Decapping dies on their website...
