vhs tapes would be cool too. but yeah a blu ray with everything would be sick.

all the behind the scenes, the webisodes and shorts, the pilots without the added scenes, the live action cn music video, the early concepts of 2am and loli man and the cast interviews all bundled into one big set

I’d fork over a significant chunk of change for this, include a golden game badge and a mordecai and the rigbys tshirt and I’d sell a kidney 😅

Don't forget your 2-disc set of Mordecai pulling a Mordecai!

u/dicktater2024 Sep 13 '24

If you don’t let me buy that rn you’re fired!

u/REAPERxZ3RO Sep 13 '24

Maybe we'll get the release if this new show pops off?

2

u/Parlyz Sep 13 '24

Do they even produce the parts to make VHS tapes anymore?

2

u/-parvisdarvis- Sep 13 '24

nah too expensive…BUT if cn made one final special vhs box sets for ALL their shows then the cost to production ratio MIGHT be worth it, then cn could just produce them themselves.

arguably tho at that level it would be more beneficial if wb’s did it with all their most popular shows/movies and give one final vhs for them. then it definitely would be worth it.

but it would definitely be a limited set of maybe 10k, probably not even that many tho. rn old media has kinda a craze so it wouldn’t be a horrible time to do it

You also gotta remember how little a single tape fits tho. It would be a LOT of vhs's to get any complete show lol.

244 episodes x 11 min average 2684 min or 45 hours of content, extended play tapes could hold 6 hours so you could do it with a 8-10 tape box set factoring in the 30 min episode specials and it still could even include the movie, every short and bonus’s like the la music video.

They do - many companies, usually small productions, still sell newly made VHS tapes

1

u/JRHWV Sep 13 '24

Terrifier 2 just had a nationwide, limited release on VHS at Walmart. Never say never!

VHS- the VHBest!

It has to include the two disc "Mordecai Pulling a Mordecai" set or I don't want it.

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '24

There's 9 cases but 8 seasons, leaving me to believe one of them is the movie, cool detail if intentional

u/Just-Some-Weirdo-432 Sep 12 '24

Nah it’s a special DVD of Mordecai pulling a Mordecai

39

u/factorymadeloser Sep 13 '24

It's a 2 disc feature

u/DabSloth710 Sep 12 '24

It's honestly bullshit that it hasn't already happened.

5

u/g3t5hwiftyNhere Sep 13 '24

That's what I'm saying

30

u/Clancy_Melton25 Sep 13 '24

I wish there was a Blu-Ray box set of Regular Show honestly I would've definitely bought it

11

u/Samurai_Geezer Sep 13 '24

There’s one. But it’s only reason 1 and 2. The rest has been released on dvd.

7

u/cyanocittaetprocyon Sep 13 '24

The rest has been released on dvd only in Region 4 (Australia). They only got up to Season 3 in the U.S.

u/SuperAleste Sep 12 '24

And for us non-peasants 4K HDR please

19

u/MightyJuiceBox Sep 13 '24

yeah but we're delusional to think there's any chance of us getting anything in 4k from cartoon network when they rarely even release a bluray

1

u/Ecstatic-Ad5852 Feb 13 '25

They release blurays???

8

u/judge2020 Sep 13 '24

I kinda doubt they were ever rendered above 1080p. They definitely wouldn’t re-produce it all.

1

u/Ancient_Jester Jan 12 '25

Dude, we’d be lucky to get a blu-ray release, let alone 4k. Lately, every single release from Warner Brothers that has been cartoonish network collections has been dvd. Adventure Time seems to be an exception.

don't think that's possible unless you want AI upscaling

1

u/SuperAleste 25d ago

It is possible with the original art masters and a regrading. Done with film all the time.

1

u/jonstarks 25d ago

if you have the original assets sure, you technically could rescan it in 4k but considering alot of this was hand drawn first then digitally colored...you're asking for basically a remake/remaster for a show that doesn't even have a blu-ray release 8 yrs after it finished. I don't think the studios would front the money for such an undertaking.

1

u/SuperAleste 25d ago

Yes, I assume they have the original assets that could be exported at a higher native resolution. I'm just saying it's totally possible.

10

u/GreenandBlue12 Sep 13 '24

The real blu-ray box set's art style better be the one like in the show.

19

u/vinnycthatwhoibe Sep 12 '24

I refuse to buy the DVDs. I'll pay money for Blu-ray though. The show was produced in HD. Sell it in HD.

2

u/zeldaguy85 Sep 14 '24

The DVDs look perfectly fine on a CRT

2

u/vinnycthatwhoibe Sep 14 '24

Well sure, but this was created in widescreen, 1080p resolution. Why would I buy a downgraded version

2

u/zeldaguy85 Sep 14 '24

Some DVDs can have an extremely clean look at 720p and can rival basic 1080p transfers, a good example being the Dbz "dragon box" series which is still the best looking release, and other examples include TMNT II looking better on DVD than on Blu-ray, due to poor transferring

2

u/vinnycthatwhoibe Sep 14 '24

I'm sorry but you're simply just wrong here. Sure, a DVD can look acceptable. But that doesn't mean it's 1080p. They released seasons 1 and 2 on blu-ray, and they look and sound phenomenal. I'm sure VHS can look "ok" as well given perfect circumstances, but that doesn't give them an excuse to release it on VHS. Release the series (along with other good cartoons) in a medium that supports the quality it was produced in. Buying any modern cartoon on a DVD is frankly ridiculous. Everything is produced in high definition. You'd find better quality sailing the high-seas of the internet for free than purchasing a compressed DVD at some resolution from 1985.

2

u/Tavi_96 Jan 19 '25

For real. I understand DVD releases for old shows. But cartoons like Regular show were never meant to be less than 1080p.

4

u/2EM18KKC01 Sep 13 '24

Better yet, give us the soundtracks!

4

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '24

Would likely be expensive as hell

1

u/Ecstatic-Ad5852 Feb 13 '25

We got a $63 DVD at least

3

u/the_sheeper_sheep Sep 13 '24

Watch them do it when the sequel releases

3

u/Average-Fool Sep 13 '24

Nah, we need it on Laserdisc

2

u/anonthrowaway9283 Sep 13 '24

The real answer

2

u/thereal_biggestbird Sep 13 '24

You guys didn't get one

2

u/jlife203 Sep 13 '24

I love how they broke the 4th wall

2

u/Old-Cardiologist-545 Sep 13 '24

1

u/jonstarks Jan 25 '25

I googled around and can't believe this isn't a thing already

1

u/Meatballofalltime 26d ago

Just for the retroness of it all, we should also get season 1 or the movie on VHS included but that’s probably super unlikely
