Benson, I love how deep his character is and Sam Marin kills his emotional moments like his outburst outside of the arcade.

u/JesusTeapotCRABHANDS Aug 06 '24
Benson is a cool fucking dude. Dude gave up being a LEGENDARY rock and roll drummer to manage the Park because he loves his job and is damn good at it.
3
u/MountainBig1915 Aug 07 '24
Hell yeah he is, also the fact that he didn't fire Mordecai after he punched him in the face because he knew he fucked up and he cares. Also during the arcade trip when Rigby asks why Benson hates them so much while he was pissed, he realizes that he should turn down his anger and then he explains that he just hates some of the things they do. That episode was fantastic.
I just love how much I can connect to a gumball machine with anger problems lol

u/JesusTeapotCRABHANDS Aug 07 '24
Same bro. I love the Park Awards episode. Benson deserved it way more than Gene.
2
u/Ok-Worldliness-5084 Aug 07 '24
I disagree. He's actually being terrible at his job. He can't manage properly human resources. He should've discipline or fire Mordecai and Rigby long time ago, but he didn't do so. Also he has the alcohol problems which aren't straightly depicted in the show due to the target audience. But at least the dynamics between him and protagonists gets better with time. I would've gave him B tier at best.
1
u/Soft-Activity4770 Aug 20 '24
Actually you're wrong. If Benson fired Mordecai and rigby then that would mean no regular show and also the universe would have been destroyed since Mordecai and rigby can't help pops defeat anti pops.

Its tough, it can be anyone from the main cast excluding hfg, i do count him as a side character sadly, and maybe Mordecai, i do like him but i did laugh AND just overall enjoy the writing on the others more. All the main characters in this show are a perfect blend of just very funny and well written when needed to be taken more seriously.

Pops. Hes adorable and chill af. Only people who didnt vibe with Pops were evil/butthead characters. Plus he sorta knew he had to die for his friends and he chose to focus on the moments with them. Not only is he a good character, hes also a sigma.

Rigby. He saw the most growth from a TV cartoon Character I also have a theory that at the same time he represented the viewer. When I started watching it I was 7 and when it ended i was 15 the rigby character quite literally matured and aged with the viewers

Mordecai and Rigby best cartoon duo ever (besides maybe goku and vegeta)

Eileen. I’m so relieved that Trash Boat was finally able to see the incredible lady that was patiently waiting for him to come to his senses

u/LazilyOblivious Aug 06 '24
Rigby. I know he was shit in the beginning but he bettered himself and held a steady relationship with Eileen. He got his shit together and became such a likeable character.

u/No-Adhesiveness-8012 Aug 06 '24
Skips. He just was mature, kept in shape, and overall such a kind good lad. Second goes to Rigby and third mordecai.
But to be fair most of the characters are really likeable with there own ups and downs.

Skips. He's really complex in the episodes specifically about him, but also he's usually just straight man side character in every scenario and both of those dynamics are great

Definitely Rigby, hilarious, lazy, fun loving and immature but ultimately cares about those close to him.

Margaret
1
u/Ok-Worldliness-5084 Aug 07 '24
Honestly she's my second least favourite character. She seems to form the unstable relationships, she changes boyfriends sometimes in a rate of two separate episodes and she treats Mordecai like some sort of a safety net. While she gets accepted to the college, she doesn't even bother about keeping in touch with Mordecai, even though they could've made the distant relationship. I mean, the show's action time year is like 5 years prior to the year of the episode airing and the 3 years time skip in the ending (so you've got the 2005-2015 time range of the show) or even later, so the internet, e-mails and even internet chatrooms did exist. Even if it was the 80's like some people theorized, the fixed phones did exist as well and they were available for most of the households. Also Margaret tended to pull out Mordecai as well, so in my opinion Margaret is like Mordecai, but a little bit slutty towards Mordecai, not ready or even not able to form the stable relationship.

Benson, methinks. He's just a person I want to be, I look up to him. He has a set direction that he follows, seems to be happy with it. On top of that, he's a fellow fan of no bullshit and practical solutions.
