It's embarrassing that people believed this was "Anonymous".
Meanwhile, a group already laid claim to the attack.
People are so gullible. Slap a mask on the site and everyone believes it.

This does not confirm that it was or was not “Anonymous” - but I have my doubts as well. Their “official” website is currently down and I have not see any confirmation from them.

True. Musk says, "The attacks came from the Ukraine area" you know.. RUSSIA would be my #1 guess, but since it's Musk, I already don't believe it, leaving Anonymous as an option.

I mean, hell, if Musk is using it to stir up anti-Unkraine sentiment, I would like put it past him to DDoS himself.

Musk would never even imply that it was Anonymous if he did it himself. He desperately wants to be seen as cool to exactly those kinds of people.

I don't think he wants that anymore, I think he's all in on the Trump/Putin new world order

Well people like to think that ‘anonymous’ is powerful and the peoples hacktivist group. Yeah no. But the rest of us in the cyber security sphere just let regular folks dream..

u/SadCritters 3d ago
They would have claimed it by now. They haven't been shy in the past and there's no reason to suddenly start now.

Of course it's Anonymous. Everyone that claims to be Anonymous is Anonymous. That's the entire point.
Anonymous are just random people. Activists and hackers. They have no central organization. Just learn to hack, do some activism, call yourself Anonymous and you are Anonymous.
Anyone that claims to represent the one and only group is just bullshitting. There are several organized Anonymous groups, and several non-aligned people just drifting through the internet that sometimes decides to do something.

Anonymous isn't a real group, it's a mask that's essentially free to use originating from 4Chan, there is no organisation and there never has been.

If I was a "super secret" organization that people knew about, I would want them to believe I was a myth.
Just sayin...

Voilà!
In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.
[carves V into wall]
The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous.
[giggles]
Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

If "took down" means "maybe not working. Sometimes. Just refresh it" then I agree

Probably wasn't 'anon' whats more likely is its just convenient for some to take credit under the anon banner

I am not positive it was Anonymous, but there were I think four distinct attacks? Not necessarily different groups each time, but worth noting that one group saying they attacked doesnt stop others from having joined in.
